Well he did suggest wrongly that we could stay where we were so je seems to be able to follow ( the incorrect) Middleton line?I guess I can understand not talking about something happening outside of the area he is running for that has little to do with that area; it is just a local election so I wouldn't expect/need them to have an informed view about other patches
Bang on the money with that. The hypocrisy of right wing posters is off the scale with Polanski.
Farage and Johnson can l lie till they're blue in the face and everything is fine but God forbid anyone who isn't a right wing bigot stretch the truth.
And this is from someone who dislikes Polanski's Nick Clegg like opportunism.
It’s for his personal security nothing to see here…….Bang on the money with that.
Angela Rayner - underpaid stamp duty by £40k - BURN THE WITCH!
Nigel Farage - £5 million undeclared personal donation from non-dom cryptospiv + £800k house that he can't explain how his missus afforded it - CARRY ON THE GOOD WORK!

Well he's not planning on doing any constituency surgeries, because he claims he's not safe doing them, even though he's got £5m burning a hole in his pocket for security. It’s for his personal security nothing to see here…….
What is he planning to do that’s going to p**s so many people off that he’s going to need £5 million worth of security?
I agree with you.The hypocrisy of right wing posters is off the scale with Polanski.

Er.....2, but honestly and without false equivalents.I agree with you.
So tell me, do the left either:
1) Not mind when both Farage, Johnson and Polanski stretch the truth? Or
2) Dislike all of those instances of lying equally and call them all out? Or
3) Be hypocrites as well and excuse what their guy does, even when they’ve previously heavily criticised people they don’t like for doing exactly the same thing?
Because it logically has to be one of those three.
I know which one my money’s on…
I would want 2, but I strongly suspect if not believe it’s 3. In fact, I’ve seen 3 on multiple occasions.Er.....2, but honestly and without false equivalents.
Why would anyone want either of the other options?
Green voting leftie. Very much number 2. Actually am much more pissed off if someone I generally like and respect is guilty of lying - particularly as one person isn't a whole political movement but when they behave badly it impacts on all of the committed and caring people in the party like my local green candidate, who runs a men's shed to support men with mental health issues, organises litter picks, runs a repair shop and community garden and generally cares about the local area will not now get voted in because of Zack Polanski said something stupid on social media.
The only other caveat is that not all misdemeanours are equal and am more concerned with genuine corruption which infiltrates wider party policy such as with multi-million pound donations from crypto bros and shady pavements from Iranian tech entrepreneurs and leading party figures arrested for spying for Russia as have all dogged Reform than I am by people saying stupid things.

Our @Boris might choke when he sees his name above with The Tories. Good band name though.I don’t know the inner workings of the Green Party but I assume a big majority of Green Party members voted for Polanski to be their leader and represent them, knowing full well he was a populist politician who craves attention and publicity. His gaffs, and stupidity on social media are hardly surprising and will no doubt continue.
Not dissimilar to Boris and the Tories, in the end it’s quite damaging to the party, and yet it’s self inflicted by the members.
They seem to have done well, as predicted, in Oxford unfortunatelyLooks like the hot new challengers to Reform aren't having such a great night in the local elections...
Student vote? Very disappointing. A very transient electorate that mess up local politics and then, having graduated, b****r off to get jobs and shift their political allegiances. The thought of a Lib Dem/Green coalition with Middleton pulling strings is not one to welcome. They seem to have done well, as predicted, in Oxford unfortunately

I don't know if you've spent much time in/around young professional and higher education environments over the last 15 years or so, but having a good education does not mean you're any more likely to be browsing journals or reading broadsheets...those that consume more long form media like podcasts tend and journals tend to have a more favourable view of the Greens because they offer a chance to present and discuss the nuance and detail of controversial policies without reducing them to simple and loaded soundbites

Don't worry, you are a constant inspiration.Middleton isn't in Oxford though, you'll have to think of something else to moan about
The so called lye valley has gone from originally built for the Morris motors car factory. From the late 20s it was pure working class right up till the 90s.To be fair, Greens did pretty well in Cowley, Lye Valley and Donnington which are not especially studenty as well as polling fairly well though not winning throughout all areas of the city. Education levels and age tend to be the best predictors of voting patterns - with Greens the most popular party among the under 50s and those educated to degree level or above - a lot of that is influenced by where people get their information - with pretty much all of the print and broadcast media running hit pieces on the Greens it is unsurprising they are doing badly among older voters who mainly get their info from these sources. Whereas those that consume more long form media like podcasts tend and journals tend to have a more favourable view of the Greens because they offer a chance to present and discuss the nuance and detail of controversial policies without reducing them to simple and loaded soundbites such as "abolish landlords", "legalise drugs", and not dwell on things that are not official party policy such as "leave nato" or "open borders".
In terms of how the elections have gone for the Greens so far is pretty early to say as none of the main seats that they have projected to grow in have declared yet - these are Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Camden, Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Hastings, Norwich, Cambridge - but early indicators of similar places such as Oxford, Reading and Exeter suggest that it they may still do ok - though undoubtedly the constant media attacks - sometimes self inflicted by Polanski saying stupid or naïve things will have had an effect.
