Just take the bulb out or stick some tape over it, sorted.

good idea. didn't think of that.
I miss the days when you could fix your own car with a few spanners and a hammer, nowadays has to be plugged in to a computer and all sorts of diagnostic equipment. It's probably something simple but no doubt will end up with stupid bill to pay

is it? garage couldn't do anything so got to take to Kia dealership on Iffley rd. It's one of those annoying faults that only comes on now and again?

That’s wrong actually, mot testers are supposed to check the light comes then goes out.
