Getting the crowds back in

4.30pm Tues 9th Nov as @Joey's Left Boot says above ^^^ - imo worth watching, to see which MPs (and which political party's )share the concerns of thousands of football supporters- and which ones dont too - as well as the outcome of the debate

Oliver Dowden will say:

"We had a plan in October for a phased return of fans, we look forward to when that can be implemented as we know how important it is to the clubs, the fans .............yadda ...............yadda ...............yadda."

We will be none the wiser and there will be no fixed date.

Spring 2021 at the earliest. ;)

sadly ,you're probably right on all ^^ counts

Australia have had way fewer Covid cases and they locked down very quickly and tightly, which worked.
Six days ago they recorded zero new cases.
As it's approaching Summer down under I guess it's not that surprising Covid rates have dropped so low following such a strict lockdown. It does after all seem that the virus is seasonal.

If community immunity is a thing, then you do fear for these countries that have had such strict lockdowns once borders are open again. Not to mention the state of the economy and excess deaths etc...

Melbourne had something like a 100 day lockdown.

If they got it right then fair play. But at what cost?

What a suprise. But dont stop 2,000 having a jolly at the Royal Albert Hall this Christmas!

I got the Minister wrong but................ :(

Be very surprised if we get to see a game live this season with the way things are going at present. Would love to get back at 2am on a cold winters night, spend half an hour chipping the frozen snow off the car like we did one night coming back from Bury, really miss the social side of being at the games like we all do.

If vaccines become available then they have bought themselves the required time. 'If' being the word. And cost wise, is it anymore for them than for us or other countries?

Don’t go to the match DO go to the match, but only if it’s outside OR inside and you can’t watch it from home, and if you CAN watch it from home then watch it outside but not with your family, watch it INSIDE with your family, or go to the match, but don’t go to the match unless you need to. Especially if it’s inside, but DO go outside. Unless it’s to the match.

This is going to be one of the best f*ck ups yet.

It seems very contradictory to the whole stricter tiers and more places in tier 3 theme that has been building over the weekend.

Public health aside - and it’s a horrific idea if this is indeed true - good luck getting clubs to juggle this in terms of logistics.

“How many season ticket holders can we let in?”

“4,000 this week, but that might change at barely a day’s notice at absolutely any moment.”

“How do we choose the 4,000?”

“No idea.”

“What if we change tiers before a home game? How do we cut 4,000 to 2,000, especially if it’s as late as a Friday afternoon?”

“No idea.”

“So what do we do with the streams? Do we just leave them all active, all the time?”

“No idea.”

And what about people travelling from one 'Tier' to another?

I do worry that the government are jumping the gun with things like this (if true) and the Christmas fudge (yum) that is coming up. Let's get the vaccine in, get the vulnerable protected and *then* start all this. (Yes, of course I'd like to go to football and have a family Christmas like everyone else)
