International News George Floyd trial

Doesn't matter what evidence comes out....the cop will not get a fair trial. he is guilty as far as every MSM channel is concerned.....i reckon he will be found guilty of manslaughter and the rioting will start.

Is it not trial by jury? They`ll decide guilt and the judge will consider other factors such as intent, aggression and the autopsy results.
Different place America....... weird, who knows what will happen?

Or the judge may deem that kneeling on the neck of someone for over 9 minutes directly resulted in their unlawful death and find the individual responsible guilty of murder regardless of any other agenda.
Well I suppose that is the other possibility, yes.

You could even say that between us, we've managed to get to the bottom of the question being asked.

And it's being televised live in America. What a country!

Sounds like the story of the hurricane in reverse.

Very true and from what I have seen it looks like this could be the case.
It is a point about a fair trial though isn't it?
How can the jury not be influenced by trial by TV beforehand?

We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that someone will make a ton of cash from it, but is there an argument that it [being televised] increases transparency?

Yes but I suppose on the flip side those jurors will be going home and turning on CNN/Fox and being told how genuine/fake someone's testimony appeared to be. Those calls are maybe best left to the juror without them being told what to think.

for cases like this in US they will be put up in a hotel, escorted there and back, and what media they have access to there limited.

I presume that means access to the footie results.

Jurer 76 has made his mind up already but ..... Juror 76 assured the judge and attorneys that he could put his opinions aside and decide the case against Chauvin fairly and based only on the evidence. ............................. hmmmmmmm thats alright then 🤔

There are 3 black men and 1 black women and 2 multi racial jurers....thats 6 guilty verdicts right there, the rest are white and i very much doubt would want to take any risk at all with the cop getting off and being unmasked.........Chauvin has absolutely NO CHANCE......seems like an arrogant cnut anyway so no-ones gonna lose sleep over it i guess......but as fair trials go ......................................:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

Probably has a little more chance than the guy whose neck he knelt on for 10 minutes!!!

With or without the media hype, I’d be very surprised to find anyone not guilty of suffocating a man for 9 minutes who wasn’t putting up a fight.
Not really sure what point you’re trying to make.

There IS actually more to it than that but ....the verdict will be murder or manslaughter.......the mob wants murder and that is what the mob will get.........either that or a verdict that will start riots ending in deaths and damage..... difficult one.

So how do you propose they solve this conundrum?

I watched the full, un-edited bodycam footage today - funny how this is only released/leaked now? The story that the mainstream media have spun, is far from the reality of what actually happened! We all know that the MSM in America and the UK love to create racial division, and this was perfect for them to do just that! I’m not defending the actions of the officers, I’m just saying that yet again, what we are lead to believe is actually quite different from reality..

George was resisting arrest for at least 15 minutes by (despite his friend pleading with him to comply because he was “going to give himself a heart attack”). He was already saying that he couldn’t breathe before the police officers apprehended him and removed him from his vehicle. Due to the fact that he said that so often, the officers called for an ambulance. He was high on meth and god knows what else, before swallowing a large bag of drugs which clearly didn’t help matters. An independent toxically report has listed overdose as his cause of death. All of the above will play into the defence and if I’m honest, I can see the officer(s) getting away with this. America will go into a meltdown like we have never seen before!

If someone is high on meth and God knows what else, and is already saying that they can't breath, it's probably not particularly wise to kneel on his neck for nearly 10 minutes!!!

What's shocking is not the msm spinning of the story, but rather than absolutely ridiculous way that some are desperate to justify the death of a man who was under police "care".

If the evidence proves this guy to be guilty then the Jury need to convict him, regardless of their own personal backgrounds.
From the footage I’ve seen, a guilty verdict would certainly not be a shock.

I assume from you’re posts you think he’s innocent?

The evidence also appears to point to murder or manslaughter and that’s what’s important here.
Imagine if it were one of your family members under the foot of the Police, there would be a public outcry for justice and rightly so.

Equally there's lots that plays into the prosecution - the fact that Chauvin apparently worked with Floyd and so could potentially know him well enough for his judgement to be clouded. He also supposedly has a history of complaints and excessive force against black people.

The question is whether it will be deemed to be sufficiently 'premeditated' to be a full blown murder charge, or whether, even with a jury, he'll get away with a manslaughter or second- or third-degree charge.

I agree also, that if he was high, the officers should have handled it differently. If someone is saying they can't breathe and is under the influence of something, what you should do in that scenario is kneel forcefully on their neck, isn't it?

Also, two autopsies were conducted and neither found that he died as a result of an overdose.

Those autopsy’s were ordered by the prosecution and the Floyd family. Are you really surprised that they reached that conclusion? Since that time, for the sake of balance, they have conducted independent autopsies. I have seen the toxicology reports and he was on enough drugs to kill an elephant. No, kneeling on him didn’t help but did that kill him? No.

If someone is high on meth, maybe don’t commit further crimes? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Just a thought...
