I disagree. The idea that “older” people aren’t every bit as prone to propaganda and lies is patently untrue. My parents can’t decipher any of the conspiracy theories and “official” looking rubbish pumped at them on Facebook, and they’re each around 70. My 13 year old niece and 15 year old nephew are much more willing to question what they encounter and attempt to find out what’s really going on. They understand the tools, even if they’re learning to use them. My parents are both unable and unwilling. I know which is more dangerous.Flipside - make all those things 18.
Access to information is great.......... if it is true and you know what to do with it.
16 year old kids on Tik Tok would be easy meat for misinformation, more so than us older cynical folk who trust nobody.
Making people unable to work or drive until they’re 18 is not going to serve any purpose other than to hammer the economy. Probably easier to not be scared of young people having a say in their own future than it is to suppress them.
