Gavin Whyte

Odd thing is he had signed a new contract 3 days ago. RM by sounds of it, hopefully does well for us

Stuart Dallas made a similar move from Crusaders to English football a few years back, and according to a few Crusaders fans on twitter, Whyte is better at this stage than Dallas was! Buzzing with this, real statement

Potential, potential, potential. Hope he lands right on his feet.
Knows where the goal is as well (though so too did Gary Twigg and the Hobanator, in fairness).
That's us set in midfield then, surely?

KR keeps saying he wants a defensive midfielder.

Fair play to Oxbible on this one. (well the person who gives them the info anyway)

Potentially a very exciting signing if he can settle and get used to the English game reasonably quickly.
Wouldn't say "fair play" to anything they post transfer rumour wise. If they have a genuine source then rumours like those can harm the club. I've witnessed it first hand before where a player was at OUFC about to sign and it was posted in similar fashion on social media, alerted another club who offered more money and off he went. Just enjoy being ITK without trying to attention seek online. I used to know about a lot of signings in advance but never posted them online. That one example being one of them... Posts on social media are easily shared and viewed extremely quickly.

Go on, spill..who was the player

Which player was that then? Assume it’s not a problem to name them given that they’re not at our club now and no problem with potentially disclosing the social media poster as they’ve seemingly harmed the club.

(Not doubting you by the way - just being nosy!)

Some very promising comments from Crusaders fans on Facebook:

You’ve got yourselves a very good player -hard worker and a top lad. He’ll be sorely missed at Crusaders, but delighted for him. Should be an NI international in foreseeable future if you guys treat him right and look after him

Great signing for Oxford. The stand out player in the Irish league

This guy is unreal. A privilege to watch and a great example to junior footballers at Crusaders. Well done Oxford Utd

He is the best player to have played in the Irish League for 20 years. An absolute gentleman too. Give him a few months to settle into full time football and you’ll have yourselves a star. He’s been amazing to watch these last few years and will be sorely missed at Crusaders, but each and every one of us fans are delighted to see him get his chance. Do yourself proud Gavin!

Good that he's picked us over teams at maybe a higher level. Really feel like Robinson is he right sort of manager to manage his transition from the Irish leagues. Might take a few months to adjust, but excited to see what he can do!
