Thanks for your service Gary and last season was unforgettable but it's the right decision and it probably should've come sooner. Since the Ipswich game, I don't think I've seen such a decline in standards on and off the pitch since the infamous 2005/06 season. I think Liam Manning will be the most likely candidate and things will be a lot different if this is the case with his reputation diminished.

Definitely sacked as well. Results not being good enough quoted as the reason

Good riddance to bad rubbish, a true dinosaur. About 3 months too late and think we could be beyond help this season now, thanks Grant and Tim, you're next.....

A dinosaur who kept us up last season.

This season has been more of a struggle and I maintain that we would have more points had we had just one player in Cam Bran available for recent matches.

It’s what many wanted but show some respect and don’t be a w****r about it.

Why has the original GR thread been closed?

If this is about who the new manager will be, it’s worth keeping that one open for thoughts, thanks and comments on GR still, isn’t it?
Hey

In an ideal world, yes, but naturally posts about him leaving will end up in 2 places.

The other thread will unlock again. Its only temp.

Pretty close to one year in the job, which in most jobs is a short time but as a championship manager is a decent stint.

He had run out of ideas and sounded like he wanted out, so for the best. Not a man you love or hate and only here a year so not the most emotional of farewells, did always feel as if it was very much just a job he was passing through. But we always have last season when we stayed up so wasn't always bad.

Interesting thing is who is next? Another firefighter or someone with a more long term goal? I haven't got a clue which direction we will go let alone who, but you hope its going to be quick, be painful if its a repeat of the Manning wait at this level, can see a few tonkings if that happens.

Shorts 4th spell as caretaker manager now, he must be close to passing Waddock in games managed despite Waddock being an actual manager here. Will it be the Short who inspired us to a 3-2 away win at Leyton Orient or the one who saw us get destroyed to a Leeds team playing at a canter a year ago?

Never boring though is it.

Thanks Gary last season was special keeping us in the division but this season not all of the time but a majority of the time the football has been boring you're better than that and so are we so I think a parting of ways was best for everyone

Who we going to replace him with 🤷‍♂️

Liam Manning is 2-1 favourite with the bookies. I don’t know what to make of that, given he walked out on Oxford and Bristol City. Did well for the limited time he was here. Might well have a plan and know where to play the players
No way on earth Manning will be back. He didn't even get thanked by the club when he went.

Where are the odds?
I've looked on BetVictor but nothing yet

Last time out (or was it the time before) we were vaguely linked with people such as Andrew Crofts at Brighton and Paddy McCarthy at Palace - people who've had experience of youth development and coaching. Wonder if we might go down that sort of route?

It's all just vague guessing at the moment though. Look at some of those names!
