Funnily enough the possession stats were unnervingly similar to most of our away games (and a few home games!) last season. Puts things into perspective a little.

It's a strange one - I think I prefer England's approach of trying to get used to the heat.

As someone who's sitting in New Jersey at the moment (about an hour away from where the French are going to play their game next week at 3pm), it has been frickin' scorchio here for the past week!

Not sure how much playing a night game in a fairly cool Lille is going to help them prepare for that.......

(although long range forecasts are suggesting it's going to cool off a little bit after this weekend, so they might get lucky)

From what I saw of it, Brown and Spencer did pretty well but as already been mentioned, the game was similar to watching us on Sky last couple of seasons. Decent defending but really struggling to keep the ball and get up the pitch.

The other similarity between NI and United last season is the amount of times they conceded possession from simple misplaced chances. It was very frustrating but I guess it has something to do with playing opponents that are much better quality. I'm sure that Spencer and Brown will have learned a lot playing against world class players
