FOOD BANK COLLECTION – SATURDAY 19TH JANUARY (PORTSMOUTH MATCH)

OxVox are delighted to be supporting OUFC Safety Officer Ian Mixter and Oxford United in their food bank appeal, taking place on 19th January, before our home match with Portsmouth.

The Oxford Food Bank deliver items for free to over 80 local Oxfordshire charities, you can find more information about their work here: www.oxfordfoodbank.org

Can you help us?

You can do so in one of two ways:

  1. DONATIONS
Firstly, we are looking for fans and members to donate food and/or drink that you would eat yourself, with no items being out of date or inedible. Cash donations towards the work of the Food Bank will be accepted too. These items can be taken before the match to our OxVox stall in the Exhibition Bar under the South Stand, or to one of the seven turnstiles in operation on the match day.

We will also be circling the ground, and each turnstile will be supplied with collection buckets until just before kick-off, so there will be many donation points.

  1. VOLUNTEER HELPERS
Secondly, and possibly more importantly, we’d love for you to lend a hand. We are asking for volunteers to give up some time during their pre-match routine to help at these collection points. Should you want to help or have any other queries about the project, please email enquiries@oxvox.org.uk and we will get back to you.

You can also contact us via any of our social media channels, where we will also be issuing further updates as to our plans as we approach the day. We are also reaching out to our friends at The Pompey Trust, who we are sure will be willing to contribute.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 19th.

See https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2019/january/oxford-food-bank/ for the OUFC website article on this initiative.

I'm sure we have an expert pie chucker in the East stand that can help with delivery..
