I was thinking about our injuries the other day, my impression was that the majority of injuries happened at the Kassam, the above confirms that to be the case.

9 injuries, 6 occurred at the Kassam, 2 away, 1 in training.

Probably nothing in it and just the way these things turn out especially the contact injuries, but in an idle moment* I did start to wonder about the Kassam pitch with its grass/synthetic mix and if that in anyway contributed to the injuries.

*Peculiar middle-aged man with awful opinion.😉

That’s interesting, is it a usual sort of pitch these days? Do away teams suffer more than usual injuries on it?

I don’t know the answer to either of those questions.

Is it possible to find out in previous seasons where our injuries occurred and if there is a greater percentage at the kassam?

Placheta’s injury annoyed me. He came off the bench at Blackburn after an hour only to injure his hamstring 20 mins later after a sprint. He misses the best part of three months. That just can’t happen. He damaged his hamstring whilst at Swansea in the spring so there is an issue there.

Kyle Edwards has started just one game since he injured his hamstring at the end of November 12 months ago. In total he has made 5 starts in 15 months.
We were told he got a knock ar Portsmouth but he will have missed another two months!

As above, Nelson’s injury must be serious - he went down suddenly without any contact. To lose him is going to be a huge blow.

The Champ.is brutal enough - it’s an elite league - so to have nine or ten in the treatment room is hideous.

Nelson stretched to clear a ball in the box a couple of minutes before he went down with nobody around him. He looked in pain then. And then when he carried the ball out minutes later, went down after attempting a simple pass. Looked like hip/hip flexor or groin.

Well if it is hip flexor then I've just come back from injuring mine, took 4 weeks.

And of course I have the body and fitness of a 20 year old elite athlete, so my experience is directly relevant.
