Gary Bowyer has stepped down as manager of League One side Blackpool today.

Blimey - one draw and he's off. Let's hope we win on Saturday for KR's sake!

He’s resigned hasn’t he? Bit different to getting the boot me thinks

While it sounds like this is more for personal than footballing reasons, it doesn't get the season off to a great start.

I just hope the tally for the season doesn't reach the 65 it did last season.....

And the award for the weirdest club statement over a manager leaving goes to Blackpool FC:

"your professionalism has been of the highest standard and hopefully your legacy and wonderful team spirit that you have engendered will endure through your protégé.
We hope the time with your family will bring you much pleasure and rest and replenish your reserves and strengths in readiness for whatever challenge you wish to take on in the future"

It has been suggested they couldn't use the training ground as the bills hadn't been paid so he had to pay out of his own pocket to use Fulwood Amateurs ground in/near Preston. Haven't a clue if true or not. Maybe the straw that broke the Camel's back.

Leaving due to not having a training ground? Pah!

KR already up to 64th on the list. Jim Bentley @Morecambe currently top.

There is more to life than football, could be any valid reason. Poorly wife, kid or himself.
