That was horrible watching him go down like he did. Truly awful and then the TV Directors showing his distressed wife as well, bloody hell what were they thinking.

Update: There are pictures of him looking conscious, if not very healthy.

This is great news, they just need to know the cause

It looked like a "straightforward" cardiac arrest.
He was out of it on his way down and when the medic was lifting his head he had that "grey palour" that suggests his heart had stopped.

Just hope the lad is OK and recovers from it as others have.

I’m sorry but they should have protocols in place for things like this in terms of coverage. They should’ve had some basic emergency plan that at least allowed them to cut to highlights of the Wales game from earlier on while they gathered more info, and got the studio team ready to sign off. That they kept showing the medics pumping his chest, and at one point showed him being zapped and his entire body jumping off the ground from the volts, was appalling. That’s without even talking about how they were showing his wife being consoled by players. Really poor form by the producers. I’m genuinely shocked by their decision making. You know this sort of thing can happen by now - surely there has to be some sort of basic procedure other than, “Keep sporadically showing him lying dead while they try to restart his heart, and make sure you get the wife, we don’t want to miss that.”

Thank God it appears that he has indeed been revived and is conscious, and is seemingly fully alert. If he comes out of this unable to play football again but is fully functional mentally etc, that’s fantastic news. The doctors and medics who saved his life today are genuine heroes.

Incredible awareness, another reminder of why first aid is so important.
