Fan's View - Sunderland at home

Funny that we are being described as 'shithousing' opponents when in reality we are just out fighting them. We don't kick the ball away, buy fouls, waste time.

None the less - good to see us properly competing and holding our own

This season we became much harder to beat once we started to physically compete with our opponents.

It goes without saying that all football fans are biased towards their own side but at least we recognise Jamie Mackie for what he is and I think are quite objective in most of the opinions given on this subject. Unlike other teams' supporters it would seem. How Sunderland fans can claim that we're the shithousers when they targetted Gavin Whyte from the first whistle and lunged two footed at Jamie Hanson with an assault that could have put him out of action for months is utterly ludicrous. And don't get me satrted on Wyke. But if that's what they think will get them promotion and referees are going to let them get away with it one can see why that's their game.

Interestingly we are 5th worst behaved in the Division with 78 bookings and 2 sending offs.
Sunderland are below us but have hadc6 sending offs

Sunderland also tried to kick Browne off the park at their place.
It seems that they target the most dangerous opposition players

Its now a standard feature of each match. Our ball carriers are are regularly scythed, the ref doesn't book anyone...we become increasing irritated, we get booked.

Funny reading this ahead of Saturday....https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/posh/tawdry-tactics-and-bad-behaviour-1-8809122

The irony coming from this piece when Evan has been your manager...not sure what Alan Swann will make of Mackie ?

Have now added an excellent photo taken by Steve Daniels which provides more evidence of how absolutely shocking the referee was.
His booking of Mackie was yet more evidence of how crap the ref was. Unfortunately, just checked the FA website and this means that JM joins Brannagan on nine bookings for the season, one more booking away from a two match ban. The cut off point is after 37 matches, which is the game against Rochdale on 12 March. Hope they both make it but chance of that must be slim IMO.
