Fan's View Fan's View 24/25 - No.7: Preston at home

Cheers @Paul B - though slightly surprised no mention for that tip over / wonder save by Cumming when we were still 0-1 down , for me that was the turning point from where we started to get going in that game. Still, football is a game of opinions .

Can't mention everything Sarge - spend too much time on it as it is. :)⚽

Great credit to Des as well. He saw how Preston were able to dominate early on and tweaked our formation slightly after 15 mins freeing up Josh M a bit more. It worked ! As we know from the L1 play off final DB is a master tactician. We may not have the best players in the league but his ability to set them up correctly makes a difference.

In contrast, how wonderful to see KR gesticulating wildly and sending out indecipherable hand signals from the touchline to his puzzled looking players last night

'We keep saying that Harris is not a natural centre-forward, not a striker in the true sense of the term and not a goal-scorer. '

Do we? I am really not sure about that. What many *have* been saying is that we need another striker to help out when/if he is injured, suspended or knackered. That may be Scarlett, it may be Goodwin or it may be one of the 'occasional' strikers (Phillips, Dembele). Or it may be none of those, in which case we have missed a trick in the transfer window. I'd also argue that (despite his headed goal on Saturday) scoring with his head is not Sparky's strength - depending on how we use our wingers that *could* be something that might come in handy at times, perhaps later in a game when we are looking to be more direct.

Always setting oneself up when use the word “we” in such circumstances. Rightly called out. Should probably have said “many” instead. But none of our fans I’ve spoken to think he’s these things. Not sure he does himself either. But as long as he’s playing well and contributing to wins who cares.
