Fan's View FAN’S VIEW: 24/25 – No.49: SUNDERLAND AT HOME

On the 92 talk.
Swansea will be number 74 of the current 92 for me.
Been to Barnet and all of the playoff potentials in the Conference so will be net zero from promotion/relegation this year.
Will lose Goodison to stay consistent with when I've knocked my tally down for clubs leaving grounds.

Might check how many of the 92 I will have missing. None of the teams coming up from the National league will be new.

I'm way down on the 92 - only been to 49 current grounds, mainly because I've been to 2 currently in the Premiership!

I needed 5 last season to complete League One and managed to get to them all. This season has been hopeless - I'll have been to 12 league away games including Swansea but only 4 were new grounds. Just the way the fixtures fell and some of the kick off times.

My missing grounds of the current 92
Prem - Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Ipswich, Liverpool, Southampton, Spurs New.
Champ - Plymouth, Portsmouth.
L1 - Stockport, Wrexham.
L2 - Bromley, Cheltenham, Colchester, Harrogate, Newport, Salford, Tranmere.

Strong North-West and South-East/South Coast correlations in there!

You should get Southampton next season, looked at the away capacity and its 3,000 although if that's a Saturday 3pm that's selling out quickly to season ticket holders given how near and easy it is to get to and how little we have played there.

Fratton Park is my most visited ground supporting Oxford, I've been 7 times. First visit was the 4-1 demolition on the opening day in 2013 and I've been chasing the buzz ever since!

its mine too, although my first visit was the notorious Santa pitch invasion when we were coasting to a one nil win and Alan Biley scored two in 'santa time'

We certainly need to be sniffing around Leicester to take Ben Nelson back on loan again if he doesn't fit into their plans and he's agreeable to the move. Same if a PL club sign him as one for the future.

Leicester may be forced to let folk go to balance the books, and there is the small matter of EFL charges outstanding that could see them start the season on minus points.

I believe that's all very complicated as Leicester are now yo yo club between the EFL and the Premier League - two completely different organisations with different sets of financial rules. Didn't Leicester change their y/e accounts so technically they were neither Prem or EFl at one time for a few days. May come down to who can afford the best lawyers. Anything that sees Ben Nelson as a Yellow again next season is right by me. :)

I think I read somewhere that they have closed the loophole that allowed them to do that, so no one will be able to pull that one again. How that effects them now I don’t know, but as you say I guess it involves lawyers.

I believe it's true that we have never played a competitive game against Bromley or Harrogate.
Hopefully we never do play a league game against them, but unless we draw them in one of the cups, it does make completing the 92 whilst still watching Oxford a challenge!

On the free kick for the second goal - my read was that Isildor had absolutely nothing to do with it. It was actually one of the Sunderland centre halves that tripped him as he made a move for the ball (completely unnecessarily, because Tyler was never going to win it). Ref was in perfect position and spotted it.

EDIT - Yeah, just rewatched it and it's Mepham, #26 - very clear and very unnecessary trip if you freeze the extended highlights at 6:07.

Spot on - not looked at it that way at all. Good job I'm not a referee.
I've added an "edit" covering this, thanks.
