Coincidentally, my Grandad was a QPR fan. He took me to a couple of our games at Loftus Road when we last played them, in the away end at my insistence. We also went to the yellow kit debacle at Vicarage Road, as it was near where he lived.Leaving early.
Well…. I’m a season ticket holder and, with my group of friends, attend nearly every home game.
I spend thousands of pounds following the team all around the country, from Carlisle to Gillingham, Plymouth to Norwich. We sometimes stay overnight if it’s a long haul.
I’ve been supporting Oxford for nearly sixty years.
I am emotionally invested in the club and I get excited, thrilled, disappointed and angry in turn.
We left ten minutes early when the third goal went in. Yes, it certainly helps to beat the traffic queues etc etc - and it’s a long journey home - but I think it was really about anger and hopelessness . We were rubbish. And we were never going to get two or three goals
There are certain ways of expressing anger at the team’s performance (I don’t boo players or shout abuse - except at the referee) and saying “I’m off; that performance was appalling” is one of them. I was at Loftus Road earlier in the season. Enough said.
I reserve the right to leave a match when I want. Although I may feel just that little bit guilty in doing so.
See you at Sheffield.
I did say i was in grumpy old man mode. Still am to some extent. Hope that all changes on Saturday obviously.Leaving early.

...although leaving early in 1984's Portsmouth 2 Oxford 1 would have been a good move. Bloody Alan Biley, and bloody Father Christmas.Leave early?
With memories of Oxford 5 v Portsmouth 5, I always stay to the end of a match .... just in case!
Yet if we hadn't given away that stupid third goal I think we'd have equalized. It ain't over yet!I expected that we would struggle, any team that is in a losing run must welcome playing Oxford, it happens all the time, awful first half, this team has’nt got goals in it so trying to claw back a 2 goal deficit was always going to difficult to say the least, a complete turnaround from Saturday , anymore performances like that and I can see the drop looming.
And that ball getting put over the keeper and getting stuck in the mud....although leaving early in 1984's Portsmouth 2 Oxford 1 would have been a good move. Bloody Alan Biley, and bloody Father Christmas.
