Thanks, much appreciated. Many, many thanks for that, Paul, and for all your reports during the season. I was actually getting a little worried that we hadn't yet heard from and was about to post "is all OK with you?". Take a well earned rest now (perhaps watch a little cricket) and make sure you're well rested and all fired up for next season's rollercoaster. (There are already many, many of us who can't get to many games who absolutely rely on your reports (pub news a vital bit, too!) and I wouldn't mind betting that your audience next season is going to increase significantly!)
Sincere thanks for another terrific series of Fan's View, Paul. Your passion for the Mighty Yellows shines through and I look forward to every one post match. Have a great summer.
Good point. Some cracking real ale cities to visit - Norwich (over 30 pubs listed in the GBG), Sheffield (twice), Bristol (never get beyond the immediate area of the Memorial Ground when we play Rovers), etc.Trying to check how many teams will be new from this season.
23 other teams in the Championship. This season we played Pompey and Derby in L1, Bristol City in the league cup, and Coventry in the FA Cup. So 19 "new" teams.
Yes, was really good to meet you. That's what football is all about, bringing people together.Paul, it was a pleasure to meet you in the Blenheim on Monday night. We always catch up with your match reports.
Enjoy the summer and look forward the big adventure next season.
Many years ago I spent some time working in Cardiff - can still remember the smell of Brains brewery. As ever, thank you for your reports throughout this and previous seasons. They are a cracking, honest and insightful read.
Cardiff is pretty decent for the beer (and plenty of places to drink it) too!
I also really appreciate all of the hard work that you've put in, Colin; it really adds so much to our knowledge (very partial knowledge, in some cases) of other teams and how they're run. Also a lot of work for you, of course, but I hope that you continue, at least on an occasional basis. Your analyses are always well worth reading. Many thanks!!Having done the financials last season, it was a lot more work than I thought it would be, and getting it all done in time (particularly when we had three home games in a week!) was quite a pressure.
When I think I only did it for half of the games, whereas Paul does it for all of them, and he also has to remember what has happened during the games, whereas mine was all external research, it puts it very much into perspective. So hats off to Paul for doing it over all of the several previous seasons, it really is quite a discipline to turn out something as high quality as he does every week.
I'm not sure if I'll do the financials next season, I'll think about it over the close season, and I'd understand if Paul decided to call it a day, but hope he continues, as I also look forward to the FV every week.
