Fan's View FAN’S VIEW 2025/26 – PORTSMOUTH AWAY

It is strange how we can hold Middlesborough & Coventry to 0-0 draws over 90 minutes but we can't hold onto a 2-1 lead for 15 minutes against a poor team with 10 men.
We signed Will Vaulks for experience in the Championship and in my view, at times, his guidance on the pitch with this experience has been poor (not to mention some of the back passes). Surely Vaulks should have done more in organising, cajouling the whole team for that 15 minute period, ensuring as a team we were picking up and marking every opposition player. When they scored we should have had at least two spare men in the penalty box. So how on earth the Pompey man was free.
I do appreciate Cam B is the captain, but at times I think Cam B gets carried away with the emotion of the occasion and Will V should have used his experience to manage the team and the players in that critical 15 minute period.

Because the defensive line failed to notice the Pompey players drop a couple of yards. It was good movement from Dozzell but a complete lapse in concentration from our boys.

As I type this this I don’t think Portsmouth have heard if Ogilvie’s red card has been rescinded.

I too was listening to Talksport on the drive back home and I have to say their matchday coverage is superb.
Adrian Durham said it was a definite red card for Ogilvie and that referee Josh Smith was correct in not sending off Brodie Spencer. He felt that Terry Devlin
Deliberately tried to get his Northern Ireland compatriot sent off by running across Spencer.

Portsmouth fans were waiting for referee Smith as he left Fratton Park and he ran a gauntlet of hate apparently.

It is something we've done a few times this season
