General FAB

farwell @OUSP - replaced by FAB which is headed by Benson

Yet Williams still wont face the Supporters in a Fans Forum, despite promises made at the previous Fans Forum. So what is the point of nother bullshit box ticking exercise that will have no teeth whatsoever, and very likely anything raised will be suppressed by a Reading supporter?

thoughts?

Benson's not a Reading supporter

I can only hope that @OxVox and @OUSP have had enough input and sway to counter the original plans for this new set up. The mere fact that Benson will be permanently involved fills me with apprehension.
Membership of this grouping will be paramount to it's integrity. If, as I fear, it turns out to be just a vehicle for Benson to push his agenda forward then some very strong character will be required.

ditto

Did Paul Peros really say what is attributed to him as a quote, in the FAB blurb?

I'd be very surprised, and a little disappointed if he did, as I understood that OxVox felt they had not been adequately consulted, and had severe reservations regarding the FAB in its proposed format?

Just been speed reading the 'Code of Conduct' for any member of the FAB. Extraordinary lengths gone to prevent anyone from saying or doing anything to which, almost, anyone else could raise an objection. For example, look at this section:

Raising a Potential Policy Breach 30.
A potential policy breach may come to light through several sources including, but not limited to:
● An issue arises during a meeting that cannot be resolved by immediate intervention of the Meeting Chair to the satisfaction of all parties.
● A complaint from a FAB member
● An anonymous whistle-blower
● A complaint from Club representative
● A supporter

And, the scope in which one may breach the code of conduct is equally as expansive. If someone blows their nose on here, for example, that may cause someone else to take exception and voice a complaint. Up pops the kangaroo court to decide their fate.

I have some very bad memories of how I was treated by OUSP and this has all the hallmarks of something far worse.

“OUSP will be succeeded by a newly established Fan Advisory Board (FAB). The move is part of the Club’s broader Fan Engagement Plan”.

Are the broader fans people like @Sarge ?

Sounds like independent, critical thought being expressed is not welcome, and won’t be tolerated.
