FA Cup FA Cup Third Round Draw 2025

I suppose you can name the only English team who's name starts with 5 consecutive consonants though?
Just been at a lunch with a few friends. They said that I've turned my back on Palace and should be ashamed. I must admit it hurt.

I love Palace, I hate the Premier League and love watching Oxford Utd with my daughter. Oxford Utd is an amazing football club and I've got obsessed with it. It's as simple as that.

I still feel guilty though.

Well you are going to feel very odd next season when Oxford play Palace in the Championship...

I am very suspicious of supporters who change teams. You should be put on a watch list.

😏

I see Palace as your childhood sweetheart. You've been together a long time, since you were too young to know why really. She has never done you any wrong, but over time you've realised that there's no real excitement in the relationship anymore.

Then you meet the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She's not perfect, but she's edgy, and has a slightly dangerous appeal. She excites you in a way your childhood sweetheart no longer does, and re-awakens something in you that you thought had died long ago. You know, deep down, that you cannot fight her raw sex appeal, and it is only misplaced feelings of guilt that are holding you back at this time. You will ultimately succumb fully to her charms.

Oxford United are that girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Embrace the chaos Eric, there's no going back now, the damage is already done.

That is copper bottomed brilliant.

You can change anything in your life except your football team.

Unless you are a two team (rhymes with anchor) who are in the same pot as those who buy half and half scarves. :)

However he likes watching Oxford with his daughter, I’m not sure how that fits into your analogy

Also trying to come up with an analogy about the three sided ground and the best I can come up with is that the new girl has a limb missing.

@Essexyellows - in all seriousness I agree with you. I love Palace, I really do and was a season ticket holder home and away for the best part of seven years, It is an absolutely brilliant football club. I saw the Cantona kick (and knew the guy he kicked - an absolute plank) and I was at Hillsborough to avoid us falling down into League One. You can't leave that behind. Yet, watching football with my daughter, knowing all the players like I do and loving the people around Oxford Utd is really special. I think I will leave it there and not overthink it. I also agree that half and half scarves are awful.

No way is Oxford someone's bit of a rough compared to a team from f*****g Croydon.

More like he got married young after knocking up the local estate slapper (perfect Croydon analogy) after a fumble round the back of the shops but then on seeing more of the world a classy, beautiful woman with a great sense of humour came along and showed him what he was missing, he has fucked off the missus and kids (which makes you an a*****e, no offence but you know it, plus you are the one who did it) and is shacked up with Oxford living a a life he couldn't even have dreamed of back when he was riding his bike around his outer south east London sink estate trying to mug people of there mobiles.

TV selections are out and needless to say, we're not one of them.

I'll hold off buying train tickets until I've heard officially that it's 3pm Saturday - I'll never forget that rescheduled Woking FA cup game that cost me a fortune when they announced it as Tuesday and then moved it to Wednesday half an hour later!

Do they still have the Sunday tv show where they show the goals go in from a bunch of games? Other than that its hard to see it being moved, even then it probably wouldn't get picked.
I think not, certainly not to the scale they used to. I also think that was only rounds one and two but I may be wrong.

Only five second round games were played on the Sunday, and at least one of those was live on tv. But it worries me that the four other games were moved!

Quite uninspiring really.

Other than for the revenue from adverts, how would any tv company think Liverpool v Accrington was of the slightest bit interesting to the viewing public!! Same with Man City v Salford. The gulf in class is likely to involve reserve teams from the big boys and even then massively one sided games. FFS all these big prem teams always get shown no matter who they draw at home! Yes the draw was crap but even so these game choices are pathetic.
