Yep, always loved watching Gorrin, and he was such a warrior for us. Albeit he became somewhat less effective after picking up a booking. Which essentially meant at some point in EVERY game. . It was sad when a couple of nasty injuries had visibly taken some of the bite and speed out of his game.

Pleased to hear from @Boris that he was a lovely chap. His enthusiasm and work-rate was a joy to watch and he did always seem a genuine, honest lad (thanks Patto) in every interview.

Wish him nothing but the best in his retirement

Well, there goes his warm reception if he ever returns to play against Oxford in future then!

A strange situation with Negru. For a brief period, it seemed like he was next on the centre-back production line after Dickie and Atkinson in getting a big money move after playing with us for a year or two. Our promotion to the Championship really limited his chances and although he was excellent at Salford, injuries and less successful loans seems to have impacted his career.

League 2 feels about right and I imagine he'll do well again in the division given his more agricultural style of play. A shame it'll be at the swamp, but I'd be pretty pretty pleased to sign him if I were a midtable League 2 club like that lot.

I sat literally next to his family at an away game during his time here (can’t for the life of me remember where!)

They were absolutely lovely…but visibly couldn’t have given much of a stuff about Oxford and were only remotely interested anytime McMahon went near it.

Completely understandable…but quite annoying to be next to. Literally my only memory of his time at the club!

I say fluked a move simply because I was astonished that someone - even Wigan - would voluntarily sign him. Nothing to do with the relative merits (or not) of Wigan and Orient
