Well the polls open tomorrow, or if you vote via postal vote, it's already been done. Note: Nobody can see who voted for who

All i see around Cowley is Green signs. This was the results in 2024:

YEATMAN, IanIndependent Oxford Alliance842Elected
It would take a huge swing!

No elections here, we are on a different electoral cycle locally.

Anyone posting on local FB pages asking "Why hasn`t my polling card arrived" should be immediately struck off the list for having the IQ of a snail. :ROFLMAO:

That aside............ its going to be carnage with an abysmally low turn out.

It’s always a low turnout for local elections isn’t it?

Not really, reduce the turnout and anyone can get in.
If Labour voters want to send a message they`ll just vote Green chuck in the Palestine issue and there is a few more......

Exactly so.......... or deface the paper.

Just the act of turning up is a contribution to society.
100% -

cast a vote , register an opinion... and remember to take photo id

IMO if those who currently choose not to vote turned up and registered a spoiled vote it would send a serious message to politicians at every level. As it stands, 'none of the above'/ 'spoiled votes' would register more support than any single party

Ive already been and cast my opinion in todays local elections

Green gain in Oxford after what they've tried to do us locally 🤮

Wonder how many of us OUFC fans actually live in Oxford City itself? Like many my age, despite growing up in Oxford I was priced out when trying to buy a house. Me and my three best mates all had to buy in one of the surrounding market towns.

I predict the City Council won't exist in two years time and we'll be going through this all again and the money spent on these elections will not be used to fill any pot holes.

Oxford is currently NOC, with Labour the largest party. I can see Labour voters not voting, which could see Greens snap it.

If Littlemore vote in Labour, then they deserve to be cut off by LTN's!

Was just telling a lady at work who wasn't going to vote to do just that.

Not voting is too easily dismissed as apathy. Spoiling a ballot sends a message.

Why? LTNs are a County Council policy imposed on Oxford by the Lib Dems. I can't see that Labour councillors on the City Council are to blame.

hopefully the city counil replacement with be the Greater Oxford option- city dwelling types have different needs and requirements (services too) than those residng in more rural areas or small market towns

Think I will change my name to SP Oli Prices and enter the ballot. That way not only will I get all the spoiled votes I might pick up a few green ones who were thinking they were voting for just stop oil and a fair few who don’t like petrol prices going up. Plus a few more illiterates and dyslexics thinking they were voting for Farage

Not disagreeing with you, but curious as to your logic that just turning up is a contribution to society, even if someone doesn't vote or spoil their ballot

The individual is making the effort, gets counted through the door then they can vote as suits or spoil the ballot.

Imagine local polling where "spoiled ballot" gets the majority.

It would send the best message anyone could with FPTP.

Even better than tactical voting because whoever you tactically support actually thinks you support them.

True, but think they need to ditch the party to show Littlemore is not happy with them.

Even the Green Party manifesto mentions LTN and congestion zones: https://greenoxford.com/2026-local-elections/

● Lobby Oxfordshire County Council to improve bus services within the city and make them more affordable, including through using the powers now given to it by the Bus Services Act – exploring establishing a municipal bus company or bringing the private bus operators under public control (commonly known as franchising).

● Support the continuation of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods which have had a demonstrably positive impact on pollution, traffic levels and road safety.

● Support the temporary congestion charge and the long-term plan for traffic filters in order to reduce congestion in the city, speed up buses and enable people to travel more sustainably.

When i questioned a party member who knocked my door about the LTN's, she said its a county council matter, and washed her hands of it. Wish I had seen their online anifesto and questioned that!

Maybe other party's can lobby AGAINST them too?
