Drums

He (assumed) was no Roger Taylor. At least it stopped when our second went in

If they are to enhance the chanting then I can see a purpose (just about anyway) but that was just like somebody had given a toddler a large drum and said bang away anyway you like.

I must have been in the minority as I thought they made a commendable amount of noise. For a club having such a hard time of it, their fans deserve respect for their numbers and in often making more noise than our fans who also got a bit tetchy in the last third until the winner.

The drummer played the same tune for the entire 90 minutes. It was just meaningless noise. If I was a southend fan I wouldn't be impressed, it kills any chance of real songs!

Great numbers from them considering their circumstances though.

Yes, good on them for supporting their team despite their seemingly inevitable relegation. And although I don't like drums particularly I can see their value in keeping chants 'together', but it was just a very unmusical bang-bang-bang - very poor.
