Is this even legal? Surely paying people to vote for you is some sort of bribery?Trump is getting desperate by offering a $5000 payment if the Republicans win the mid terms. Would cost around $1.3tn from reports.

Isnt that politics, offering tax cuts or bribes like the tripple lock or upping benefits if people vote for you?Is this even legal? Surely paying people to vote for you is some sort of bribery?
Not a great look, of course most politicians do to an extent, but most try to hide it, heβs not even trying, just full on bribesIsnt that politics, offering tax cuts or bribes like the tripple lock or upping benefits if people vote for you?
Do you honestly see that as the same thing.Isnt that politics, offering tax cuts or bribes like the tripple lock or upping benefits if people vote for you?

Very different, offering to pay people money directly to vote for you.Isnt that politics, offering tax cuts or bribes like the tripple lock or upping benefits if people vote for you?
Not really anyway he isnt paying per vote you can still claim your 5k even if you dont vote for him but live in the US and are an adult. Just like people payiying money to benefit claimants to buy their votes. If Universal Basic Income comes in would that be caught under the same bracket? What about a party promiosing to increase the personal allowance by 10k? These are all bribes of the electorate.Very different, offering to pay people money directly to vote for you.
You can't pay money directly to voters as this is bribery. It won't be long before Trump will say he didn't mean that, he'll say he meant everyone will be $5,000 better off. And those who still didn't know what to do with the financial bonus they've received since his second term of office started will vote for him again. Not really anyway he isnt paying per vote you can still claim your 5k even if you dont vote for him but live in the US and are an adult. But paying it out via UBI, reducing tax, benefits isnt bribary too? Dont get me wrong i think its silly but so was bribing people with other promises too labour and Tories have both been guilty of that. You can't pay money directly to voters as this is bribery. I think youβre right to some extent. Itβs the Trump MO. Other people do more sophisticated and concealed insider trading and electoral bribes, porkbarreliing etc. Trump then does it all brazenly and openly and to a more massive degree. Itβs the same with his pitifully naive lawfare, and his jobs-for-the-boys appointments.Isnt that politics, offering tax cuts or bribes like the tripple lock or upping benefits if people vote for you?
Excellent news https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqvgy34ndj4eo
And what are the beloved EU doing about Russia? Have they stopped buying Russian Gas. Nope still a large trading partner. Are they buying rebadged Russian oil from india? You bet they are!
As much as Donald makes mistakes and successes like any President (he is at the erratic end i agree). Nobody gives him credit or hold the EU to account in the same way. And to claim he is a Putin ally is odd. He supported Syria Revolution (Putin ally) He Bombed Iran(Russias major ally which the EU opposed and supported Russia) he has done far more sanctioning than the EU countries. You could easilly argue that EU is the ally of Russia when looked at through the cold hard reality of what is happening.
If the AfD win a majority, it's auf wiedersehen to the entire EU political project.Excellent news https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqvgy34ndj4eo

Technically it is not the EU buying, it is certain individual countries. Also the same countries blocking sanctions by the collective. And what are the beloved EU doing about Russia? Putin will be ecstatic. If the AfD win a majority, it's auf wiedersehen to the entire EU political project.
Maybe the EU should start protecting Europes borders and stop betraying its people if it wants inhabitants of its countries to support it.Putin will be ecstatic.
Do you see who's playing you now?
Again, aside from free movement of citizens between member states, countries are free to set their own immigration policies.Maybe the EU should start protecting Europes borders and stop betraying its people if it wants inhabitants of its countries to support it.
That sentence is an oxymoron.Again, aside from free movement of citizens between member states, countries are free to set their own immigration policies.

not really. they are part of a block with free movement (with certain restrictions). but immigration from other countries is down to the individual country. you want the EU to deal with the EU's border - that is not down to them. That sentence is an oxymoron.
but countries don't have to, its an individual choice. Unless you want to give the EU more power....So you set an immigration policy................ and then let anyone walk in....
I see a slight flaw.
IMO the previous sanctions were failing, Iran was executing 25k people protesting for democracy. For me you either do something about the rogue nation (and make it safe for people to stay there) or accept it and not allow asylum from it. I'm happy with either. I have been critical of the war in Iran i think it has been poorly executed and the US has failed to topple the regime and failed to use its military might effectively because Trump overestimated the effect of air strikes and how quickly that would finish the war. Having deeply religious state where martyrdom is so acceptable having nuclear weapons is not acceptable. Mutually assured destruction as a deterrence only works if all side dont want themselves to be destroyed. Israel for all its faults (and it has many) doesn't have a history of supporting martyrdom Iran and other religious states like Afghanistan (which we seem to consider it OK to have the Taliban in charge so no asylum should come from there now) have a history of supporting martyrdom. How does he get credit for attacking Iran?
He has created a global mess with it seems no off ramp by following Netanyahu and this Israeli Govt's wishlist. And confirmed for Iran that strangling the Strait of Hormuz is a powerful weapon for them. Whilst their proxies can cause significant issues in the Red Sea as they are now doing.
He is also doing the "threatening to annihilate Iran" schtick again. I suspect the Iranian leadership just shrug their shoulders when he does it now, considering the number of times he has made the claim and the reported armaments supply issues.
Yep but its a pretty broad base not just a few countries. The biggest importers of LNG are France, Belgium, and Spain. Slovakia and Hungary have pipeline natural gas. Virtually everyone buys oil/oil products from india (made from you guessed it Russian oil).Technically it is not the EU buying, it is certain individual countries. Also the same countries blocking sanctions by the collective.
If Iran gets Nukes the Houthis will soon after. And Hezbollah too. Expect it to be used on Israel, Iraq and Saudi and other Allies in the area.Give the Iranians a couple of nukes. Trump tried imposing himself on North Korea, but in the end it was all talk because they have Nukes, so he didn't bother starting a pointless conflict there.
They're not stupid they wouldn't use it, it'd be a good deterrent though and only fair seeing as Israel obtained nukes secretly and without international consensus or observation. If Iran gets Nukes the Houthis will soon after. And Hezbollah too. Expect it to be used on Israel, Iraq and Saudi and other Allies in the area.
