International Politics Donald Trump 🍊🇺🇸

Yes I agree with this. Yet I can’t see a path to it in the UK. But the US has done it in about 9 or 10 years. My boy would be telling me it’s the fault of the Democrats for not getting their s**t together after Trump 1, and I find it hard to disagree. The Dems are just playing along with business-as-usual leaving oldskool geriatrics like Biden, Pelosi, Schumer in positions of power. The Dems should be the antidote and if they don’t step up bigly then disgraceful racist animations from the Whitehouse will be the least of their worries.
Agree about the Dems and the absolutely ridiculous (and sad) spectacle of Biden and nobody telling him his time had come to move over (or him realising it himself) early enough to make a difference.

Mid terms will be interesting, no doubt, but with it all coming down to a few hundred thousands votes in key areas (as US elections pretty much always do) it will be under intense scrutiny. And while Bannon might be an absolute far right extremist whack-job, he's already getting in the calls early to get ICE agents involved in the process of "security" around polling stations in certain key locations. I'm guessing for the Dems that Newsom is biding his time (While taking great delight in getting under Trump and MAGA's particularly thin skins) and waiting to see how that plays out before deciding to go for the Dem nomination...

Sorry - I meant what happened at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.
I believe that the US team.was bood.
Then they showed Vance at the ceremony and he received a whole load of abuse ( apparently they dimmed the sound for US TV viewers).
The general view was that this was really unusual for such a thing to happen at the Winter Olympics in Italy !

Just when you thought you’d seen it all with Trump, Vance, Hegseth, but still not quite enough for enough people to revolt in opposition and actually force some change, up steps AG Bondi.

While she is the most odious, horrific individual I may have seen for many, many years (and the bar is high), she might be the key to all: the catalyst to the majority of Americans actually realising what is going on.

I mean, an AG who can’t actually even turn around and acknowledge the Epstein survivors sat behind her? Who deflects every point and says that the Dow is what people should be talking about, not Epstein?

Surely every human can see this is wrong.
Surely.

US team wasn't particularly booed, Vance definitely was. The US broadcaster was the only one that didn't have that audio...

I noticed he’s sulking like a man baby after it’s ruled he can’t use tariffs but then slaps on a 10% global I think it was tariff. To think him and his crownies thought a female president would be too emotional…

It's toddler-in-a-supermarket-isle-tantrum esque.

But then, most things he does are like that🤷‍♂️

He's antithesis of stable genius

Which I guess makes him an unstable idiot.

Another tantrum from the Idiot-in-Chief. I hope and believe that if the leader of the party I supported came out with this sort of frothing gibberish, I'd have the integrity to condemn it.

I was just thinking what you'd make of it if you'd somehow been able to use a crystal ball to read this in the 1970s or 1980s, say, before morons became electable. We all knew Reagan wasn't the brightest and Nixon was dishonest, but Jesus, no-one would have have ever believed that an American President would one day write this sort of unbalanced partisan nonsense and not be immediately led away for their own good.

Honestly the story for me here is less Trump acting as an unhinged, corrupt a*****e - because that's just who he is.

And more being impressed that a big tech firm - who closed a $30 billion private capital round just two weeks ago - are acting in a thoroughly ethical manner, and refusing to abandon their principles in the face of losing a $200m US government order (which is only about 1.5% of their annual revenue......but still).

Kind of makes me want to use Anthropic products, given that they actively don't want to surveil me!

Yes, it's interesting. My first reaction was (apart from the Trump bluster) that I'm not sure that I actually blame a government from saying to a company "if you won't let us use your product for what we want, then we are not going to use your product". That seems fair. What is impressive is a company with huge market penetration being strategically happy to hold their own integrity line. Not a lot of US companies or institutions seem willing to do that at the moment.

I've been using claude for a while now and I really like it - it has some excellent reliable research capabilities rather than making s**t up.

ChatGPT - “you’ve hit the nail on the head there - not many people do that”

I’ve tried googles for programming and while the first few responses were good, it’s taken a massive nose dive within a few hours for me. Claude is much better.

Sure. What's off (apart from the baked-in "far left" "woke" nonsense) is the naked threats, and the notion that the company should just abandon their Terms of Service because the Government tells them to. That's not normal.

He is a disgrace to the fifa piece prize.

Or that they’ve reportedly agreed to the same terms from ChatGPT that they wouldn’t accept from Anthropic. In separate news OpenAI are major donors.

That's what happens when you surround yourself with hand puppets. No one in his little circle of idiots has the courage to say anything against him.

"tremendous leaders I appoint to run our military" :ROFLMAO:... Yep, until one actually does become brave enough to question your decision making, then they will become unintelligent incompetents and very bad people.

Trumpy has failed to bully the BBC into an early settlement. And quite right too. By my calculations, the BBC owe Donald Trump the square root of F**k all!
