Seems like there was alot going on behind the scenes. I think if Des was interviewed for the Wales Job the directors were not happy .And let's be honest the last 15/16 games we were mostly really poor we had really regressed under Des .And when he was sacked Moore did say things didn't seem right. You have to wonder what went on the players certainly were not on board. Hopefully onwards and upwards for 2025.
Heard Rumours he also made clear his interest for the Coventry job and was looking elsewhere on more than one occasion.

There were also murmurings of him courting the Hull job, although that was around the same time we were having the inquiry into the Matete loan shenanigans so he may have just been looking after himself in case we were demoted back to L1. It does sound though that Des and OUFC wasn’t quite this blissful marriage it looked from the outside.

Time to let sleeping dogs lie.

I thought he’d done a great job, and I thought at the time it was the wrong decision to sack him.
I have calmed down and on reflection we would have been relegated with Des at the helm.

It’s always got to be about the club and moving forward.

My sentiments as well, there are always two sides to a story and we're unlikely ever hear what Des feels went wrong.

He got us promoted to the Championship via an incredible day out at Wembley where I think most of us expected we'd lose, so whatever rumours there are, I don't really care, I appreciate what he did for us and really hope to see him back managing (sucessfully) somewhere else.

Des has been gone 17 days, I think it’s absolutely relevant to talk about him still - whether that be truth, accusations or rumours. We debated Robinson for months and months, Manning too.

I don’t know how severance deals work, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Des is contractually unable to publicly discuss his ‘side of the story’, so I don’t think we’ll be hearing from him anytime soon, I guess the same applies to the club.

With that in mind it’s interesting, it appears certain things appear to be leaking which don’t show Des in the best light.

Yep and we go so far with LM being a snake until we realised he was a human who ended up going through something none of us would wish on our worst enemy.

I care very little for the twaddle about KR and his shenanigans in his personal life. I cared that he lost the plot as a manager and had to go, and I had hoped he would go much sooner

Personally I thank des for what he did with us, and wish him all the best in his career . I have to trust that the board are more switched on than I am about what’s going on at the club, and that their investment is secured to bring the club the highest success it can achieve.

The king is dead…. Long live the king.

Ciaron Brown sounded reasonably positive about Des in his recent interview - said he'd played every game under Des and knew exactly what was expected of him.

In fairness though, Ciaron Brown high on life and bouncing off the walls sounds exactly the same as Brown down in the dumps.

He’s the walking definition of not getting too high with the highs and low with the lows.

If it's involuntary redundancy, his severance may be tied with a non disclosure agreement. At a guess it'll be 6 months before he can comment publicly.

Also it's the context of the question that was asked. He was asked if it was difficult to suddenly take on board a different perspective so quickly from a new manager. CB was essentially saying having played every game under DB he knew what DB wanted so now had to adapt.

To confirm, he was actively in discussions with representatives from the Welsh FA about taking over?
Were our board informed? Were they in agreement?

In any case, no surprise he was let go if true. I am also in the unfortunate position of having to get the OK for things at work from someone less experienced, less able and absolutely unreachable. I would LOVE to sack them if I was in a senior position. Not answering your paymasters is not the brightest tactic, it's fair to say...
No, he was short listed but never held discussions with them.
