"By May, there was a section on the supporters’ forum called “The Des Buckingham Apology Thread” where fans gathered to admit they had got it wrong two months earlier".

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you actually subscribe to The Independent you get the full version of the article, which is even better...

"Some fans have even taken to debating what beer Buckingham would drink - but judging by the state of said forum it could have been a lot worse - yellowsforum certainly it's fair share of peculiar middle-aged men with awful opinions".
Can that bottom quote be added to the banner?

Des will be attending yhe mental health workshop being hosted by the club in conjunction with Oxfordshire Mind and the Joey Beauchamp Foundation next Monday. All are welcome - it will help with organisation to know numbers so if you intend going please fill out the form. All details in the story below.

What a year it has been.

Des gave us one of the greatest days on the 18th May. No matter what happens from here, he’ll be regarded as a legend.

Hopefully we are able to get a couple of players back next week and put a few more points on the board before Christmas.

In Des we (I) trust.

Bolton 5 Oxford 0
@bazzer9461 after the game speaking on RadOx
“ We are diabolical,useless, embarrassing, it’s pathetic.
I’m sorry but the time for Des is now up.
He hasn’t got a clue “
And at that time I wasn’t the only one thinking that. But Des pulled it out of the hat and no one and I mean no one saw us winning at Wembley against a team that 10 weeks previously hammered and embarrassed us 5-0.
I was wrong as were many but haven’t a scooby why you have brought this up?

What a year.

The end to last season (one of my mates who has been to many away games suggested Peterborough away was possibly the best ever away game), Peterborough at home ( twice), Exeter away.
Then of course Wembley.

When almost all bookies, commentators had us as coming bottom this season, Norwich at home, Preston Stoke and Hull ( and we were very good at times at Luton).

We also seem to have a very decent human being in charge of our team. In this results driven game we love, this is not maybe the most important thing to many, but I expect that many of us appreciate what we have at the moment.

You call is featured on the latest episode of The Dub.

Certainly the most memorable day of my supporting life was at Wembley watching Des do a complete number on Bolton and I was on top of the world watching our early season performances. For that I’ll always be grateful.

The timing of this international break is probably the most luck he’s had in weeks (except Hull hitting everything but the goal first half!). I hope we use it wisely, get players back on the grass and rediscover our identity which I feel we’ve drifted away from in quite a big way recently. We need that courageous, high energy football back or I fear the worst for Des as our plan B is not looking too good. Do we have enough ideas in the dugout?

I’m praying we get a fully fit Brannigan back now along with the calmness and quality of Phillips as I think these two could play a big part in reversing current form. We need plan A back in action.

Stadium and longevity aside, I want nothing more than championship football next year. 2nd to that is Des still here doing bits for us this time next year. We need to pick up now.

Keep going Des 💪
