DB also said on The Dub that the he joined because the new stadium was in the offing.

Cardiff do not look an attractive proposition at this moment in time. A better run, more stable Championship club such as Middlesbrough or Luton may turn his head but I can’t see Cardiff being of interest.

"Cardiff want to speak to him" and "It's 50/50 whether he goes there"

Half of the message at least, must, by definition, be utter made-up B*****s.
Perhaps. Might just be a poor choice of words so I wouldn’t be dissecting it that deeply. What we know is that he’s been pretty close on a number occasions with inside knowledge much to the annoyance of some, for reasons I don’t really understand. Quite obvious he did have sight of the shortlist, rightly or wrongly, so I’m all for a joke but he should probably be given a bit more latitude than a P**s take every time they appear on a thread. That’s just my take.

I’ve never been more hopeful that someone is talking out of their a**e. Des going now would be seriously problematic and if Cardiff were the destination then my god, the board will come in to question again. How can that possibly be a better opportunity than at his club where he’s now settled down, got his team together, players and fans in the palm of his hand and a new stadium not far away.

Hard to believe there is genuine truth to it, but I’m not totally dismissing it until someone with a better record than Big Boy comes along to squash it.

Just listened to the Dub episode with Des. He was absolute brilliant. I thought that management consultant / Simon Sinek stuff was interesting and shows how much football has changed. Great guy. Looking forward to seeing Burnley now and how Des measures up against Scott Parker (best hair in the EFL)

In an interview with Des, he highlighted how McKenna and Rob Edwards were both offered new contracts as the clubs 'wanted to keep them '
I assume that Des received a decent payrise after taking us up, and would think that the board are looking at new contracts for the backroom staff ( as well as some players)?

I noticed those comments too, and wondered if a not-so-subtle hint was being dropped.

@Colin B has hinted elsewhere at a signing being imminent, and so of course I've put two and two together and come up with half a dozen or so...!

Renewing Des’s deal with a better wage but with additional financial protections for the club, in the event that he is approached, would be the shrewdest piece of business that the club could do.

Buy out clause: £150m or cost of the new stadium, whichever is higher.

Approach fee, just to look into Dishy Des’s blue eyes 😍: £1m

Not only has Des not put a foot wrong this season he has been 100% brilliant in every waking moment on and off the field. So proud to have him as our manager. To get the universe back in balance he is going to have to spend his Christmas murdering kittens.

Don't worry everyone, Des is going nowhere - I've already ordered the handcuffs...

A certain member of the forum could have lent you some from his extensive collection.
Yes but the ones I've ordered are specially designed to handcuff him to the dugout, and they're padded, because although I desperately don't want him to leave, I wouldn't want to hurt him either, just very politely hold him hostage. For ever.
