I’m sure Des is happy managing his home town club looking to get in the play off position I don’t think he’d be interested in a team looking like they will be fighting to stay in the league 😁

The longer Des keeps us midtable in the Championship, the more he is over-achieving. And to the perception of the ‘should beat teams like Oxford’ masses, he is WAY over-achieving.

That means he will be strongly linked to basically every Championship vacancy. And there are usually plenty of them over a season. So this will become the norm. The reality of our position on the totem pole is that sooner or later a club will come along with enough of an enticing proposition, or throw enough dosh at him that he’ll go. Hopefully at the end of the season. After he’s comfortably kept us in the league…

I’d like to know if he’s excited by The Triangle and what it would mean to him someone from Oxfordshire. Would be interesting to hear his thoughts on the plans and what they could mean for the playing side of the club.

Don’t no what all the worry is about. People forgetting we’re a championship club now? Cardiff imo at this moment in time would be a downward step. Unless a team the size of Leeds in the championship came knocking or a prem team why all the concern. IMO pretty sure sooner rather than later we will offer a juicy pay rise and honestly who knows where this man could actually take us. It’s unrealistic to think of promotion but sure we can dream and that right there would probably make him the best mangaer in the history of the club. We are in a position where we can fend of clubs now ie branagan to wba. Don’t be worried atm

Simples is Des a long.player or like snake a qúick player. I think he's long ... Look at the Ipswich manager had options but wode the wave.

Supporters need to trust until a snake bites

Re D, re appointment, I doubted it, I was correct at the start but boy has he grown and developed Into it , and boy have I gone wowserz. And super wowserz is the championship on warning.

Will he be with us.in 2027 but who cares enjoy the ride

I would be surprised if Des was interested in the Cardiff role.
I assume that if he did go it would be to a club with a real chance of promotion to the PL.

Des won’t be going anywhere, certainly not for the foreseeable!!

He’s managing his boyhood club he supports, and living the dream. He’s building a bright future for himself and the club on the football pitch, and off of it.

Cardiff - If he even went for an interview I’d eat my own jizz.

@Scotchegg

Does the prospect of the new stadium, witnessing the Manning mistake, managing his hometown club and becoming a legend in Oxford history reduce his interest in moving to perceived bigger clubs?

Look at it a different way. He’s a fan of the club. And especially in the championship we seems to be competing ok with wages so would anyone on here if offered the exact same wage prefer to play for oxford or Real Madrid honestly? I mean if you’re getting 10k and it goes to 40 I’d leave but at this level i honestly don’t think there’s nothing to worry about
