Or his financial package will be cut if he finds employment so soon?

Probably this. I'd think 6 months which is about up this time next month so he'll be ready now to commit to a job and take it formally next month. The season is over so they can wait a month and it will give him time to get all his ducks in a row - staff etc. I think he will get this job.

Has he been back to support his 'boyhood team' since the sacking?
Behave yourself.

I imagine being sacked by your boyhood club might make you want to give it a bit of a wide berth for a little, not to mention how him being at a game might be perceived.

It's not difficult to imagine a world in which him going to game might be perceived as attempting to undermine the new manager, etc, by those who like to stir things up.

I doubt he'd want to have any kind of accusation like that levelled at him, or distract from what is happening at the club now.

Because Des has such a name that people will put money on him without any ITK evidence, I get ya.
He is out of work and has a promotion out of league 1 on his CV at his first attempt.
A lot of football fans and people who follow lower league football will have heard of Des.

I see what you’re saying, but what’s the old saying “no smoke without fire’ 2/1 aren’t nailed on odds, but unless a name comes steaming straight in, the Des name may have legs.

The fact no one is odds on yet says that it is still very much an open market and guess work at this stage. Once a club start talking to people is when we will really see movement.

True, I really want Des to get this job, maybe that’s why I’m looking at it as favourably for him.

I think that’s a great job for Des if he’s in the hat - a step up from what I thought he’d get if I’m brutally honest as I expected it to be L1 next for him but not necessarily one of the big hitters in there. They’re a bit ropey in the boardroom but it’s a cracking club with great support that needs his sort of warmth for a bit.

Willing him to get it, I think it’s a level he needs to revisit and would do well there. Hope they’ve got some good wingers lined up!

Buckingham goes to Cardiff and on day one comes and takes Sibley and Phillips off us in exchange for Selech and O’DOwda 👊

“I wasn’t able to play Stuart Findlay during my time at Oxford, but I was well aware of his qualities as a ball-playing centre back and I’m delighted to bring him to Cardiff on a four year deal.”
