It will be very interesting how this goes. I have a feeling the contracts for these systems work on the Facebook type model of we provide you with a cheap/free service but then make our money from what we do with that data. I can't believe many of the L1/L2 clubs pay anywhere like the sums I have heard that Prem clubs pay, so the money has to come from somewhere. Like much in football at the moment in England, a lot will come from the gambling industry.
I think the likely outcome will be that the data transfer will be covered somewhere in the contract between the club and the system provider, and it will be the clubs that get hit for gathering the data without full transparency with their staff.
