Preview/ news ...albeit brief... on England's preperation for tomorrow's match, from BBC Sport's Stephan Shemilt (in Southampton)

Absolutely smashing down in Southampton, so England are netting indoors. Jos Buttler, recovered from that hip problem, is having a hit, as is Joe Root. In preparation for the West Indies pace attack, there is plenty of short bowling. Root is even facing left-arm throw-downs to replicate Sheldon Cottrell.

It would be great to see Sheldon Coterell run up, and Roy smash him for six straight away, followed by a march down the wicket and give the salute. It might put an end to the crazy gimmick.

I think it would be a great ploy. The bowler gets owned, and wound up. Starts to bowl wayward deliveries that get slapped away for boundaries and we run out winners.

My suspicion is Cottrell's sense of humour would leave him if that happened. But the schtick is a mind game so you try to biff the ball and get out to him. He eventually bowls a buffet ball, so leave him to wave him arms around take him for over 1 run a ball+ easily.

Oh, and Mark Wood has a niggle and may not be fit for tomorrow.

with all the rain of late maybe WI will opt for fuller length instead of short balls?

England won the toss and chose to bowl first

Wood keeps his place (Ali left out) Buttler fit to be WK - unchanged basically

England need to get a few early wickets...especially Gayle

Windies make 3 changes Russell and Lewis are back after injury , fast bowler Gabriel makes his world cup debut

Archer V Gayle it is at the start of the match

8-1 after 5 overs .... decent bowling from England ... only one boundary (Gayle) so far

need to remove Gayle and Hope before they get too settled

Gayle targeting Archer

Roy may have pulled a hamstring while fielding? ... being replaced by Vince ... not good if that puts Roy out of the batting attack
