Bangladesh have won the toss, and have put England in to bat.

One change Plunkett comes in for Moeen Ali.

The wicket looks a bit green, so they brought in an extra seamer.

Jason Roy starting positive. 2 overs 6/0 need a lightning start. Might be a Duckworth Lewis that settles this.

7 overs bowled 36/0 Roy and Bairstow starting well, and hopefully will lay the foundations for a good solid score..

11 overs 82/0 looking ominous atm. Loads of power to come in the middle order, this could be a big score.

What a start after very slow first 4 overs.
87 after 12.
Could be a very big score.
Roy 51 in 39 balls

16 overs 110/0 wonder if these two could bat all 50 overs. Now that would be something. Now I’ve said that we will lose a wicket.

128 for 1 Bairstow out for 52.
Still should be a big score.

Decent opening partnership ...Bairstows 51 useful ...Roy on fire at the moment

Bairstow gone in 20th over

Great start from Bairstow and Roy. As an opener he’s done his job, and helped lay the foundations for a big score. Hopefully Roy can kick on.

a win today would take England joint top ....with NZ and the sandpaper squad

actually, a Bangladesh win would put them joint top with the Antipodeans too

We need to win.
If you can probably only lose 3 to make the semi finals, decant afford another defeat today.
But from this position we really should be ok.

ton up for Roy

England could be looking at a score of 375 + today

haha .... anyone else concerned that the umpire may strike back? ;)

Bangladesh odd choice not to utilise spin bowlers.... England tend to struggle with spin

not complaining though at 181-1 after 29 overs :)

Roy 135 not out.

Question who has the highest score in World Cup for a batsman?

I remember Saeed Anwar scoring 194 for Pakistan, but can’t remember if it was a World Cup match..

Roy gone for 153 ... decent total ...first odi world cup 150 ?

Great innings from Roy shame to get out, but that’s one day cricket, rotate the strike play shots and build a big target.

Now for Buttler and Morgan to go past 300 hopefully!

350 would be a massive ask for Bangladesh, when considering the average first innings at Cardiff is 240.
