Very disappointed with England today. They had a better wicket to bat on and won a good toss, and let themselves down badly.

Couple of cheap wickets after lunch and it’ll be a very interesting gene..

Bess especially needs a wickets. He is bowling poorly- full tosses , over pitched deliveries.
England need him to get a wicket as they only have 4 front line bowlers and Jimmy has already bowled 16 overs.

Bowling too slow as well. 80kmh rather than 90kmh. He needs control and a bit more pace.

England could do with breaking this Sharma-Pant partnership. It’s the only one that actually looks like a partnership from the Indians so far. What a time to wake up to see them start finding the boundary .

To be fair Sarge, neutral umpires and DRS have evened things up a lot.
I am old enough to remember home umpires in all tests where there (appeared at the time) to be some extraordinary decisions.

There certainly has been a bias with the set of Indian umpires and officials in this series.

Some dodgy calls on the pitch. Some poor 3rd umpiring and even the match referee in not banning kohli.

agree ... though there have been a few 'strange' calls in this series nonetheless

Momentum was lost by overbowling Bess who sadly had disappointed. Stokes looks shattered too.

Still, dislodge one of these two with the new ball, get into the tail and that lead may not be an insurmountable one.

Slightly strange comment - yes, he needs more control but that is harder to achieve the quicker he bowls. Part of the issue is that he has been on the sidelines for the two games when the ball turned sideways and just doesn't have the overs behind him. Also, he's not a top-class spinner but a useful bits and pieces cricketer at the moment.
