Excellent win in the end. Pakistan were 71-1 after 8, ended 155-9 off 20. All the decisions Buttler made as captain, bowling changes etc, worked to perfection.

BBC sport statistician said the 11 overs of spin is the most England have ever bowled in a T20 innings. And three different spinners took wickets for us - the first time that has happened for England in England since 1976. That bodes well for the T20 world cup in the UAE and Oman - those places are high scoring in general so the ability to take wickets is going to be key.

Really like the look of Parkinson, would not be averse to him being given a go in the test side (since Rashid has all but given up red ball now).

Yeah I liked the look of Parkinson too. For Test Match cricket though, he’s going to need a lot more variations than he does, otherwise I think he’ll get found out really quickly.

Comfortable win that ...t20 series decider at old trafford tomorrow eve

England have an exceptional white ball squad with lots of strength in depth when the players are all fit.
Whether this can transfer to the Test arena though is another thing

Thats the big question. We have so much talent in the two shortest forms of cricket, but whether any of that talent can play in the 5 day format is another thing.

It’s a totally different game physically and mentally. I’m all for giving people a go, because good god, they can’t be any worse than what we currently have in the Test format.

The best crop of talent need the best coaching available, and the right guidance. So when they do get selected they are more than ready.

Parkinson looked fantastic against Pakistan. Yes he took a brilliant wicket to get rid of Imam ul haq. But I was quite impressed with his all round performance.

If he could develop a good flipper that goes straight on, or a wrong un. To go with his leg spin. We are in business.

That’s where we have been desperately short for years. You need a bowler on a day 4/5 pitch that can rattle through the opposition.

3rd T20 at old Trafford .... OUFC flag on display... Pakistan 154-6 after their innings, England 83-1 10 overs to go

Bairstow gone for 5

Moeen gone for 1

112-4 ... this might go to the wire .... 43 needed from 30 balls

Morgan gone, 4 from 4 needed. Rush of blood from Morgs.
