According to the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, about 69% of Tennesseans — but fewer than 30 of 95 counties — are under a face mask requirement. Those researchers found that counties that don’t require wearing masks in public are averaging COVID-19 death rates double or more compared with those that instituted mandates.

Whilst other factors will be involved, it does seem to back up face masks are beneficial.

33,208 (increase of 279) cases were reported in the County.

UHL reported 1 death.
The death occurred on ; 29th December (1).
Total UHL death's stands at 918.

27k in the city is about 10% of the population correct? So still nowhere near herd immunity numbers, if it even would have worked?

Across the East Mids they reckon 1 in 8 have antibodies so a fair way to go yet.
