International News Covid-19 .....

The English are at fault for high levels of Coronavirus in Gwent/Newport apparently....

I'm glad the comments balance that rubbish out.
I saw that. They talked about the hot spot in London and linked it to Gwent. Riddicolus.

Today’s death count breaks 100 for the first time.

Obviously it’s concerning but I am pleased (so far) we’ve dropped away from tracking the Italian death rate. According to the image shared on here a few pages back they were at 1015 on the same day as opposed to 578.

I echo that. Italy is now close to overtaking China!

A note of caution though because we stopped testing for a bit and I expect it to rise the more testing we do.

Bit of a to do about the fact that we’ve moved the goalposts in terms of announcing figures / cause of death in recent days. Government saying they can only report deaths and include them in the figures with family consent of each deceased, but plenty of very qualified people rebutting this and saying consent is only required to name a specific individual, and that nothing of the sort is required to include them anonymously as part of a number. Which is true, hence why when a plane crashes they very quickly tell you how many people were on board. It’s only to say names and show photos etc that permission is needed. So quite why the health department are saying this now I really don’t know.

I very much hope that we aren’t ‘flattening the curve’ by being rather economical with the reporting. The fact that this is even being questioned is a pretty sad indictment of where this country has gone in recent years.

A new study from Oxford University was published yesterday (albeit unreviewed) which suggests that C19 was spreading undetected in the general population in January.

The only way we are going to know is to get these testing kits out - and in the words of the head of the WHO "Test, test, test"
In January I had 2-3 days of feeling so tried, achy etc.. I said at the time of I hadn't had my flu vaccination I would have thought I had the flu!

I might get a test.

Has anyone checked on Jamie Mackie?

His family must be fed up of the shirt tugging at lunch time, the chirping when he someone spills a drink and general excitement in the household. A cure for COVID-19 can't come soon enough.

After all. There are only so many times he can go on the naughty step...

I imagine he's at home with his family doing nothing until 2 minutes before the kids bedtime before coming on to chants of "super, super Dad, super Daddy Mackie!"

Still trying to be relevant in the dying days of his failed leadership

At least he can admit he didn't win the election now!
and Bojo is still a buffoon
.... check your fuckin' spam folder!!! ....

Johnson is doing a reasonable job, with some stumbles and mixed messages. The main thing is that he's using the input of experts and not running the operation on an ideological basis. I don't have any faith that Corbyn would have done better.

Everyone please get tested !!!

The UK is taking this seriously

New testing is now being conducted without the need to leave your house, so no hospital visit necessary.

All you have to do is mail your stool sample to:
Swindon Test-centre For Covoid (STFC)
County Ground
Swindon

Please note :Large samples give a more accurate result

Perhaps it might be a good idea to have a curry the night before

Whilst we're all bored, does anyone on the right want to try and explain how their beloved free market economics would have been a better way to go about things rather than the, let's be honest, socialist policies the chancellor has come up with?

Surely the free market way is 'survival of the fittest' and all that entails ...
seems EFL/FA adopt an Orwellian approach , along the lines of all the survivors are fit, but
some survivors are fitter than others

with the different ways that Bury & Bolton were treated as a prime example!
