Consultation is LIVE

Friendly tip - ensure your comments match the "key values" of OCC that are in the survey.
EG: Creating employment, supporting health, wellbeing, active travel and contributing to "net zero".
Also mention that the plans retain the Woodland Trust section as a green buffer.

All such things count when the pen-pushing box tickers filter the results...... :)

All done and I’ve shared links to both the consultation and OxVox’s guide with friends and family.

The plans exclude the Woodland Trust.

The existing Green Belt still provides a break between Kidlington and Oxford City.

Access to the Woodland Trust will be improved by the addition of pedestrian and cycle paths across the Stratfield Brake area and from Oxford Parkway and the Water Eaton Park and ride site. This in turn, will provide pedestrian access from Kidlington/Garden City to the rail station. Something that has been missing from the outset. This will in turn reduce traffic from commuters as they will be able to cycle or walk from the village. It is worth noting that this correlates to the already favoured, and agreed to by OCC Cabinet, cycle path improvements championed by Cllr. Ian Middleton - Green party, Kidlington South - (Kidlington local cycling and walking infrastructure plan)

So the Woodland trust ground is retained as part of a green buffer then??? 🤷‍♀️

No, it's excluded from the application and therefore not "retained". Calling it a part of a "green buffer" is misleading. It was, is and will remain, simply green belt, end of.

Just a quick reminder as to how important this consultation survey is. The people who oppose this development are organised, determined and very vocal, as they have every right to be. We must be more vocal, better informed and bring bigger numbers. Some people will be wondering if doing the survey is worth while and imagining plenty of others will sign up anyway, so why bother?

Numbers are absolutely vital and every single one counts! We have the opportunity to get this project moved to the next stage and all it takes is ten minutes of your time. Please don’t leave it for others to do, those that oppose the move won’t. We have been crying out for this for years. Now we have the chance to make it happen.

Take the survey. Get family and friends to do the same. Get the message out on social media.

Finally a huge thank you to everyone that has already taken survey. It really is making a difference. 💛💙

I see oxford mail are doing a poll at the moment. 84% strongly in favour. Link can be found here if anyone wishes to vote. Obviously doesn't mean anything but the more its reported that more people are in favour the better.

Closed now, but a decent, completely unscientific poll result!
