Considering moving to Non League ground

Didcot has increasingly bad traffic problems with all the new housing built there, is a trek from north Oxfordshire, and has the worst selection of pubs in the county. I say that as someone who lives in south Abingdon so would be one of the people who lives nearest. Not even sure you could justify keeping the Oxford name if we played 16 miles from the city.

Groundshare with Reading ?

As if TVP would allow that :):):)

Golf clubs are going bust daily, must be a few that would sell,(with the right brown enevlopes)

Southfield golf course (or whatever it’s called now) walkable from all the pubs on the Cowley road if you were on the right bit of it would be great, doubt it will ever be anything but housing when it eventually goes.

Good point raised earlier.............. has anybody actually offered him his £15 million ?
The chances of buying & developing an alternative site are always going to be far more costly so why not try the simple stuff?
"Hi Firoz, here`s the £15 million."

Needs to be able to handle car traffic and be well connected by public transport. That pretty much rules out anywhere within the ring road.

I would but about £15 million short.

I can offer a £1 towards the fund.

So....... say we have a potential 40,000 supporters that would chip in £100 (averageish...some less some more) thats £4million...... leaving AN Other to only find £11 million. Share issue of a community assett?

Said previously why can't we have a pitch owners association like they have at Chelsea where people buy shares?

Large or small investment and try and raise enough to make an offer for the ground.

My local team Truro had to move rather quickly at the beginning of season so that LIDL could start work on the superstore. Season tickets sold and all that and they moved to share @ Torquay, 109 miles and just over 2 hours away, so maybe we should be looking further afield. Eastleigh?.

CPF is (slightly) larger capacity than Eastleigh (shame that the pitch at CPF isn't up to EFL standard) .... under Eastleigh's previous chairman/owner a groundshare with them, albeit 50 miles away from Oxford, may have been viable ...not so viable now though

Chuck it in at Dalton Barracks on the airfield instead of the thousands of houses they want there. Straight on the A34 and Oxford/Cambridge Expressway. Extend the Radley Line to have an Abingdon stop or something.

That would still upset the residents of Clifton Hampden.

TBH the current site is probably best, esp if they open the rail line. Just need to sort the ownership and develop the stadium. A lot less pain than looking for a new site in one of the most expensive parts of the country.
