EFL Class A Football Ban

Commits crime, gets punishment.

Hardly "news" is it?

As for drugs in society. Give it away free on the NHS - you know it`s clean, the related crime to fund the habits drops off a cliff, less workload for the plod, far fewer gangs carving each up with machetes (#BLM and all that). Addicts overdose and die in a back alley so what?

Sorted. E`s are good...... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
There has never previously been football banning orders for drug use so pretty big news actually.

I think people above a certain age would be shocked if they found out just how widely used cocaine is now. Pubs, clubs, gigs, sports events, plays, casual gatherings - there's always at least one person on it.

Doesn't make it right or acceptable though, does it? It's another step on the slippery slope. What next? Dead in a street gutter on heroin?

I am 45 and Coke has been widely used since I started going out, so wondering what the age is that its is a shock.

The older people on here do seem to have an idea that cocaine is being dealt by Pablo Escobar and gangs are marauding the streets, its nothing like that.

Of course it's like that further back down the line though. Agreed that a modern day Escobar wont be turning up in some pub in Bicester but he's at the source of it and god knows how many illegal hands it goes through before it reaches you. What was Escobar, dead at 40 odd? Tells you everything really.

coke, speed, and a few decades later e's/ mdma , have been part of club culture since at least the 60s, generally the use of chemical assistance is to prolong and perhaps enhance the night out ( often allnighters)

as a young 67 year old Im more than aware of whats been going on over the decades, having been a successful Dj , and for 15 years reasonably successful live music promoter.

Thing is overt, blatant and obvious use of class A substances is something that in more recent times has come to the fore

A bit like weed smoking- it all used to be more covert and subtle, not so these days

If you're going to advertise ( as in blatantly imbibe more or less in public) what you're doing, don't be surprised if you get caught breaking the law, and get your collar felt for doing so

I've never seen so much use of cocaine at football as last season. Like @bashamwonderland I say if you want to do that leave it for pubs and clubs and away from football.

The war on drugs is totally and utterly pointless but that's a debate for another day. It is a harsh ban but it's the risk you take. Football supporters are always treated way more harshly than other members of society

Don't disagree with you, actually quite rare to see anyone arrested for it now though so that has emboldened younger people to be more brazen. I remember when about a decade ago the police were going round raiding pubs in Headington with the sniffer dog to catch people with it, think a fair few wraps ended up in hedges and plant pots.

But not to the lad buying it from a bloke called Dave in Bicester, no different than buying a pack of fags, he won't see the bloodshed in Bolivia or where ever further up the chain. We all buy stuff that causes others misery, none of us think through every purchase where we don't see the consequences. I like a Nandos but I am honest enough to admit that if there is a fair God I am going to hell for my part in the treatment of animals, luckily I don't believe in any of that so I can just feel a bit guilty about it very occasionally while I continue eating meat.

Scary for both of us when I agree with every word.

Some people need to learn not to take the p**s.

(Not meaning to imply that was the case for the lad who was banned)

I think the general perception of say the 50+ age group is that coke is still a rave/clubbing drug and perhaps don't realise that people are doing it whilst having a couple of pints and playing darts in the pub on a Friday evening.

Not saying it's right, just saying if the same strict penalties were imposed across all sections of society half the population wouldn't be allowed outside.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning it and am not a fan of the coke-taking, LIMBS-faking culture among certain groups of young football fans, I'm just saying if you walked into a bar in Canary Wharf on a Thursday evening and threatened everyone in there with a 5 year ban from going to the pub if found do be doing coke, the place would be half-empty in about 2 minutes.

It’s an illegal drug.

If it’s become socially acceptable legalise it and tax it. If not face the law.

The damage comes at all ends of the scale on coke, from those having to manufacture to those selling bits and bobs here and there. Ultimately those at the top are either very nasty families at best and terrorists at worst.

There’s definitely so much more brazen coke use at the football. You know the types who will be doing it as well. International games and the big away days/Wembley days our attends to attract them. Without wanting to sound like an old man about it, standards have slipped across the board. Maybe a Labour government can get a handle on some of the moral decline thats occurred over the last 14 years.

I’m more concerned about the continued prevalence of ‘Cake’ in society. Still coming in to the UK from Czech Republic, despite government opposition to it, ‘Czech neck’ remains a problem and I’ve seen a few obvious ‘custard gannets’ on it around my way. Someone offered me some ‘Joss Ackland’s spunky backpack’ the other day but I threw it back in their face and told them to f**k off. No chance I’m going to tolerate that filth messing with my brain and affecting the ‘Shatner’s Bassoon’.

It's got nothing to do with football, it's society I'm afraid. It's rife out there, people are on all sorts .
Weed ,cocaine, speed ,crack , ketamine, all the legal prescription drugs, ect ,etc. Also the biggest problem of the lot alcohol.. say no more.
There's more people, than you think hooked on something.
One day it could be you.......

I'm 'meh' about your first paragraph, but wanted to apply a positive emoji to the second one.

You see the bind I'm in.

Drugs is in all parts of society, from top to bottom.
All classes, all professions, no one is immune to it.
Surprised people ,are surprised.
It's ok saying it's elegal, half the people, that make the laws, are on it. Pot kettle.one rule for one & all that.

I have only met/know a few City workers but they have all done coke, in fact I would say its use is highest among the most "successful" people I have known.

Of course, there was a time it was only people of Money that done it.
It wasn't called RICH MANS DRUG for nothing.
The stuff on the streets, is cut down to hardly anything, compared to the old day's.. that's why it's cheaper now....

20 years ago I went to Cancun in Mexico and saw someone from England completely spaced out, asked his mate what was wrong with him and apparently he had bought some coke but didn't allow for the fact it was much nearer to the source so a lot, lot stronger, I reckon by the time you get down to the cheapest stuff over here your best defence if you get caught is to get them to test it, every chance its barely cocaine.

Yep , Britain is well known for the weakest strength, & dearest in the world.

Also worth mentioning, this kid that's been banned is the one who got The Globe shutdown before Wembley for launching his drink at Bolton fans, and has been arrested numerous times, notably against Port Vale last season for spitting at a police officer outside the Blackbird. A little weasel who thinks he's a hooligan and cannot handle his beer or gear clearly - good riddance.

What are your profit margins? Only mucking about.

Have just returned to England from 10 plus years in Singapore. Before that was living in Miami. 2 parts of the world which would perceive this subject very differently to one another. I mainly sit on the fence on this. There are more deadly substances out there. Yet, I do still think it's: d!ckhead dust, for those with small personalities whom need to 'express' themselves. I don't have a major issue with it doing it. Just not on school runs, inside football stadiums, dinner with the inlaws and during mass.
