It sometimes depends on the number of games doesn't it?
Our option on Christ's loan could be dependent on many thing, such as if he plays a certain number of games, if we stay up, or perhaps if Luton fail to get promoted. If that stipulation is reached, we can choose whether or not we want to turn the loan into a permanent signing at £3M.

With an option, we can choose to buy him if xyz.

With an obligation, it would be a case of we have to sign him if xyz.

For example, my understanding is that we have an obligation to sign Prelec after his loan ends, should we avoid relegation, at a pre-agreed price (supposedly approx. £1M).

I don't remember this being in the Bible:

Head Coach Matt Bloomfield said: “When I arrived at Luton, Christ had just signed and was in the Under-21 side. It was immediately clear he had something special. He took his opportunity in the first team with real authority.
It's in the Gospel According To Matthew.

I presume he is from the Republic of Congo and not the Democratic Republic of Congo, since he was born in the capital Brazzaville. That's the smaller former French colony, not the much larger former Belgian colony later known for a while as Zaire. Unless anyone knows better.
Correct. Capital is Brazzaville. Because it’s useful to know pointless stuff like this.

Why would there be any conditions on an option? Surely its just if we want to keep him we have to pay the 3 million ?

As for the obligation on Prelec, are you saying that even if he played zero minutes for us, as long we avoid relegation we have to buy him? Surely there must be some player conditions too.

A possible condition for an option may depend on whether Luton get promoted. There might be an agreement that if they go up then they get to keep him. Just giving an example here, I have no inside knowledge.

Again, I don't know the details, but the obligation in Prelec's case could be that regardless of whether we manager to agree terms with him, there is an obligation for us to make that payment anyway, and it's down to us to handle the actual contract side of things.

A good performance. Peart Harris, Makosso, McDonnell have all looked good (as has Konak this evening). We’ll have to hope the rest of our Jan transfers perform to that level. We may have a chance of staying up. Albeit a chance that gets slimmer by the fixture

Looks good . Not sure how Luton came up with £3m. If he keeps delivering hopefully we can get him for a lot less

Would the club shop allow the printing of Christ Almighty on the back of a shirt 👀
