Noticed on Facebook from the Masons Arms that Chris Hale has died. A really great Oxford Utd supporter,
I knew Chris firstly from Oxford Utd Supporters Club and then Barman in various pubs in Headington including The Black Boy. He worked in the Bindery at O.U.P. Later on the Railway. From the old school, the biggest supporter I have met. He is now back with mum & dad who I had the pleasure of meeting in the Supporters Club.
He would have been over the moon with our great win at Bristol today.
RIP Chris

Chris was a great person and a very good friend, i tried to post this Saturday but it didn't work my fault.
Sadly been poorly for a while, he did purchase his season ticket in his normal seat put hasn't been able to attend this season.
Certainly going to be missed by alot of people in our local pubs, i always enjoyed a pint or two with Chris or visiting him at home. Loved OUFC that win Saturday was for him.

Always enjoyed a pint and a bit of banter with Chris in the Black Boy and Quarry Gate . He had the most comprehensive collection of programmes both Headington United and Oxford United, some going back to 1949 I believe. United through and through.

I am sad to hear this. Chris was a good friend of my brother.
Spent many a happy pre-match with Chris in the Supporter's Club at the Manor. And the Black Boy.
And I remember a few away trips, including a couple of memorable weekends in Blackpool.
I think that in his younger days he was known as ' The Drain'. Because pouring beer down Chris was similar to pouring it down a drain.
A nice man, very tolerant with me as a young lad who knew nothing, but thought that I knew it all.
