Chelski U21 away

Right, let's get this cleared up.

This thread is entitled 'Chelski U21 away', but there are some posters saying it'll be their U21s and others saying it's their U23s. Please can somebody clarify which it actually is?!

Thanks in advance,

Shaun Harvey

There'll be 5 first team players with a net worth of £85m. The rest will be U23...
Hope this helps,
Antonio

I thought all U21 teams had to play away from home or have they changed the rules mid competetion again?

I heard the whole point of the competition is to give their young players a chance to actually play at stamford bridge! Just a warning as oxford fans we were not allowed to buy tickets on the night last year. The penalty shoot out was a hoot especially as it was meaningless.....

The competition rules insist that any U23 drawn at home will play at the first team stadium. For this massive clash there will be no ticket sales on the night as Ahmed needs to plan for two or three kebab vans and Police have advised he must apply for the correct number of permits to avoid queuing on the King's High Road...:)

Oxford Mail says it will be played at the Bridge. Surprised. Wonder what their lowest ever attendance is?

The lowest attendance at SB in the PL is 7,148 against Southampton in 1992.
Lowest attendance in the 2nd division 6,009 against Orient 1982
Lowest post war crowd at SB, 3,489 v Luton Full members cup 1991.

Apparently 5,200 there for last seasons game.

If Wigan beat Bournemouth in the FA cup, couldn't we play the game on Saturday the 27th ?
I might make the effort for a day up the "smoke"

Not if Chelsea beat Norwich in their replay, they will be at home on the 28th against Newcastle

If any game in this competition is to be boycotted, it has to be this one. 'Little old Oxford' taking a massive following to stamford bridge would make it seem like lower league clubs (represented by us) get a real thrill out of having a night out at venues like stamford bridge, regardless of which team Chelsea put out. This would go a long way to legitimising the whole idea of integrating B teams into the lower leagues - which is what the whole boycott is about preventing! As enticing as the fixture may seem, especially because our lack of cup runs and derbies this year has left us with an already-acknowledged shortage of 'big games', it is crucial that it is viewed with as much disdain as any fixture in any other round where u-23 teams are still in the competition.

Here we go again

Why ?
We played at SB in a group game last season, why would a quarter final be switched ?

They haven't played at SB this season in the comp and rearranged one of their group games tro be away. Reckon the same will happen here if we agree to it, and otherwise will prob be at Kingsmeadow.
