Charlie Raglan

I’d play him ahead of Mousinho who just constantly costs us goal as we saw on Tuesday for the goal by kee to make it 2-2 & did that most of last season

Nelson & Raglan had a good understanding when they played under MAPP

Official gone to Cheltenham. A player, who should have had more chances in light of Dickies recent drop in form, who also played well in the checkatrade trophy gone, now waiting for his usual croc/journeyman replacement.

Ah, but I'm on a different time zone, still light here.

Never really understood the clamour for him to get a go. Know a few Port Vale fans who said he was average there last season. Couldn’t get into a Chesterfield side that went down. League 2 is probably his level. Has always clearly been a back up even when Mapp was here.

I noticed that he liked a lot of tweets from fans saying he should have been given more of a go and that the club is a shambles etc. Not the most professional thing to do.

Jack Midson syndrome.

IMHO, it's all about contingencies.

Clearly we're scrimping and cutting corners - and in the event of Dickie / Nelson losing form or health it's obvious the plan is to send Mousinho back to CB, thus scuppering one of the few decent personnel changes we've had this season so far. (I accept a DM is expected in but Mous is doing that particular job well enough, and we already have plenty of cover there too).

If there are going to be incomings then I think we're all happier, but we're just so painfully thin all over the squad just now, we're just one or two minor mishaps away from sinking without trace.

I think most of the wailing and gnashing of teeth is quite legitimately due to the club quite cynically cost-cutting when they were so vocal in their positive ambition less than twelve months ago.

At a time when we should be looking to strengthen the squad and increase in size, kr decides to move out a player who was far more useful as a player in the 11 or on the bench, than some of the crocs he has brought in. This will hit home more if Nelson leaves in the summer, and we have to go looking for support in central defence, in Raglan, we had someone who could have slotted straight in. Unfortunately he wasn't one of the favoured ones.

Unfortunately he wasn’t good enough than as a back up, what if nelson leaves in this window?

Wasn't one of the favoured ones?? That's bollox
He went to Port Vale last season and was poor near the bottom.of League 2.
We may need another CB but please let's not pretend it should be Raglan

"That's bollox"
How the hell do you know how badly he played at every game for Port Vale?
I couldn't give a rats a**e about Stoke reserves. I am an Oxford Fan, and he is an Oxford player. When I've watched him, he has played well. A million times more would I prefer to see Raglan in the defence than Long, who, I believe, has a much poorer record playing for Oxford than Raglan.

Port Vale were not interested in keeping him.
He was let go by Chesterfield (being relegated to League 2) and was poor by all accounts at Port Vale (As an Oxford fan I am sure that you followed him and are aware of this)
He was not comparing with Long who is generally a full back and 4th choice CB.
I am not suggesting that We don't ideally need another CB but don't reckon that Raglan is the answer.
I wish the guy the best of luck but would be surprised if he plays above league 2. Time will tell ...
