Didn't Charlie become a Director just after Sunderland had already been relegated to L1?
Sunderland had already become a laughing stock.
He did pretty well at Charlton.

Both Charlton and Sunderland absolutely took off immediately after he left!

Which you could either interpret as him being a lead weight on the clubs he's involved with, or that he does actually improve things behind the scenes.....it just takes a bit of time for that to have an impact on the field.

Either way, I guess Wednesday are hoping lightning will strike a third time. Struggle for twelve months while salmon pants strolls around blaring out his EDM, then get rid of him and sit back and wait for a double promotion!
