Add in Brown’s ridiculous last minute challenge vs Charlton.

6 points whooshed
Brown has cost us plenty of points this season! But because he throws himself on the ground he’s hailed as one of our best! His inability to clear a ball with his right foot cost us 1st goal at Portsmouth and many more.

Not an ideal result but it doesn't really change much for us - we've still got to earn our own points to be in with a shout of catching anyone else, and I'd take our recent form over all of the others down there. Going to be tough, perhaps even unlikely, but we're still in with a shout!

As for individual errors and misses etc costing us, that's never ideal - but it's football. Spending half a season with an inferiority complex is by far the bigger issue in terms of leaving points on the table...and I think it's taken MB a while (and some better players admittedly) to turn that attitude around and give the team a focus and belief that they belong here.

Out of interest how many times has Helik not cleared the ball with his left foot?

What that shows is that our illustrious leaders basically gave the entire division half a season head start, with a shabby summer transfer window, awful preparation and failing to act sooner when Rowett had dialled out.

That’s what makes all this harder to swallow. We’ve FINALLY come to the table as a championship team, you could argue for the first time since being back at this level, when it’s now possibly too late.
Yep, I completely agree. I am happy to admit I was one who had reservations about Bloomfield when he first came in and the Norwich home game put a massive dent in my confidence. But since then he's shown he's learnt. He's picking a settled side and getting them to have a real go. As you say, we look like we belong at the level rather than hoping we can be plucky and stay in a match for long enough to steal something.

His points per game is decent. Currently we'd be on for 59/60 points over the course of the season, which is easily enough to stay up.

I can live with the individual moments and mistakes in games that cost us points. That's just the game and wherever you are in football you look at those as the thing that cost you the title/automatics/playoffs/survival. People still talk about Henry pass at Wembley or Brock's backpass etc.

What really does need revisiting (whether we stay up or not) are those things you mention. It all started with the disastrous Indonesia tour, the budget cut in the summer then being slow to show Rowett the door after he lost interest (which was no doubt in part due to Indonesia and the summer budget). An entirely avoidable sequence of events, made all the more frustrating by the fact we also had a crap summer in 2024 with a self inflicted transfer embargo. We made it much harder for ourselves to survive last season and managed to go one better this summer.

You do know brown missed like 15 games of the season and still has better stats and the same goals as Stanley mills 😂 what about the players who have been consistently s**t for the past two years
