That’s helped me get over Saturday. I’d be really surprised if Pompey finish the season ahead of us.

And I’d really recommend anyone who still hasn’t quite got over Saturday yet to take another long look at the Blackburn and Pompey run-ins. They’re unfailingly beautiful.

Portsmouth have taken one point from the last 15 available (v Blackburn). Four home defeats on the spin too.

They go to QPR on Saturday, then Norwich (also away) on Good Friday.

We are their next home game.

The pressure on them on Easter Monday, if they have failed to win at Loftus Road or Carrow Road, is going to be immense.

It's quite possible we'll be above them by then too. For us - an away game at a Portsmouth side that enjoy possession but look utterly toothless with it - and in turn can't defend set pieces - sounds very tantalising right now.

Tonight should be a massive tonic to us all. Portsmouth are in a world of trouble.

There was some ASTONISHING officiating at the end of that game. The ref finding almost two extra minutes of stoppage time, penalising the Derby keeper for taking too long over a kick despite the fact Portsmouth players were surrounding him and he had no room to kick it.

I was watching in disbelief, almost certain a late equaliser was inbound. That ref must have a fiver on it being us going down!

The Portsmouth fans seemed very quiet, not a lot of belief from the stands. Losing games will do that of course, but i wonder if they are losing belief they will get out of this.

Just 2 or 3 weeks ago, Portsmouth would have assumed they would cruise to survival.

Yeah, they seemed very quiet. I think momentum at this point of the season is crucial, and if you don't have it then you start to slide down the table and get dragged right into the trouble you complacently thought you were out of.

In a way you'd rather be a couple of points behind but with that momentum, rather than not knowing when, where or how your next win is going to come. They've only picked up 1 point in the last 5 games and a tricky batch of fixtures to come; I'd be very worried if I was a Portsmouth fan

Pompey have a serious cutting edge issue. Derby dangerous on the break.

We have numerous teams around us that just aren’t very good.

This is where our momentum going into the final throws of the season is so important.

Portsmouth may be above us with a game in hand but I think I would rather be in our situation currently.

Fingers crossed when we go there a win takes us above them.

It could be such a pivotal game. Crushing for them if they lose, a magnificent boost for us if we win and payback for our loss at home .

Earlier in the season I thought Derby were one of the worst teams I’d seen, so to think they’re 3 points off of the play-off’s is unbelievable!

You can’t grumble with Portsmouth’s work rate ( and the team gave everything for Mousinho) and no game is easy for any opponent going to Fratton Park
but they have no strikers at the moment .Plenty of possession and they load the box but just can’t score.

Derby did not look any great shakes but Agyemang is quick and Matt Clarke heads and kicks everything at the back. They were lucky not to concede as they defended deep and invited pressure in the second half.

I bet all the strikers or injured players will be back for their game against us!!

I believe that Preston and Charlton are safe, so I think it’s from Blackburn down who will end up in the other 2 relegation places e.g. either Blackburn, Pompey, West Brom, us or Leicester!

To be honest, I don’t feel any different under either manager, but I just don’t think the expectancy is there for this game which in a weird way may take the pressure off of the players that they’ve had to endure lately, ala Bolton play-off final, but after this game, then it really starts to heat up, so hoping the players have the bit between their teeth after the international break, especially for the Pompey game

Like I said, they looked awful at our place, so like you say, Eustace doesn’t seem to be that useless after all!!

We can debate forever whether we would have been better sticking with Rowett. Personally I think Rowett is a better manager. But you can't deny that we have a better team spirit now and that's going to be crucial.

It’s easy to look at a fixture and just assume Pompey are going to lose, if only it panned out that way. It only takes one result to get you back on track and they are still in a very healthy position compared to us - we’d be well happy to have a point on Pompey, a home game in hand on them and still to play them at ours. The reality is there will be just as much pressure on us in that fixture at their place.

Not sure Pompey supporters will look.at it quite like that.
Momentum can be a big thing and I suspect that many will see that being 9 points plus clear and looking good, to suddenly be one point clear is a worry.
You are right about Blackburn and WBA, but many times a team can plummet and not manage to turn the corner. Let's hope that happens to Pompey!

Pompey have a hell of an injury list, think it is 9 or 10 first team squad out. Shame for them, but really handy for us.
