General Celebrity-spotting

I went to the Strawberry fields festival in Cambridge about 20 years ago, and whilst in the city centre topping up on "refreshments" I tripped over Stephen Hawking in the street.

It was like a meeting of two beautiful minds, although admittedly mine was of the more "spannered" variety 🥴

Now if we're talking about drinks, Bill Giles still owes me a beer from about ten years ago (from a cribbage match at Thame Bowls Club).
Steve Davis played my nephew years ago in a chess tournament around twenty five years ago. He’s good at that too.
Steve has a brother Keith who replaces snooker table cloths etc.He replaced the ones at our snooker club last year.

Was driving through London once and saw the Rugby League legend Martin Offiah and former Prime Minister John Major on the same journey.

I served Pippa Middleton and her husband yesterday at Waitrose, both seemed decent enough

In a football sense, I have served both Geoff Thomas, and The Greatest Mind in Football is a regular.

Sat next to Bill murray in the Ram inn, West Firle.
Walking to sainsbury heyford hill bumped into Darrah Ennis the menace....

did he punch you after jumping on his back?
I jumped on his back and whispered "forget this politics bullsh*t, you're a good man". He said "that's very kind" and his security guard peeled me off him. Not my finest hour. In my mind I was uniting the left ready for years of power. It didn't happen.

Lou MaCari on the tube going to WHU. He was Swindle manager at the time.
Jim Smith at the Chinese restaurant in Woodstock.
Michael Portillo stood on my wife's foot at an airport lounge, didn't say sorry either.

Was behind Rowan Atkinson at Wheatley Tyres one day many years ago.
Andy Serkis been seen multiple times at the BP in Stadhampton
I too have seen Andy Serkis at BP in Stadhampton, he once tolerated some of my small talk at the counter when we were both completely full with awkward shopping in arms but neither of us wanted another bag for life in the collection

Rowan Atkinson was a regular at Blackwells too, where I worked and met or served many famous faces

From the amount of people who have mentioned Rowan Atkinson on here is it known he lives in Oxford?

Bill Wyman in Angles back in the eighties, think he was dating Mandy Smith at the time who was about 14.

Harold Wilson and his wife Mary at the taxi rank in St Giles one May day, we were a bit worse for wear.

Cor baby that really free
Aylesbury's finest; Willie Barrett at the long-gone Great Western pub down by the station (before he was 'Wild', must have been 1968?).
plus minor celebrities:
Michaela Stratton in the cafe at the Arne Nature Reserve.
Sir Keith Joseph going in to the Centre Point office block (he was really short).
Lance Percival at the same table at a buffet dinner.
Mike Raven in the loos at a Muddy Waters concert.
and
Queen Elizabeth II at Witney May Day ( I was the Jester complete with pig's bladder on a stick).

Blimey, Her Majesty QE2 relegated to "minor celebrities"...

He lives in Ipsden now.
He used to live in Ipsden, in a big huge eyesore glass and concrete mansion, with an underground carpark for all of his fancy cars, that was built after demolishing a huge countryside farmhouse mansion on top of the hill in the process, much to the anger of the local residents!

However, he had an affair, and ended up divorced, and his ex wife got the mansion in Ipsden.

I'm not a Rowan Atkinson stalker fan, I just know someone who lives in the village!

You never think of Mr Bean putting it about do you?

Had family do a bit of work for him, they were not complimentary about him as a person.

Rick Wakeman walking his dogs along the seafront at Southwold on a rainy morning.
Salman Rushdie in Chutney Mary's, London.
Rick Wakeman lives near me in Hampshire. Saw him at The Anvii in Basingstoke, a very fine performer.

Couple more I forgot about.

Paul Merson on a train into London (Waterloo IIRC)
And Matt Le Tissier in a shopping centre in Southampton. Was in the same lift as him
I can add Phil Thompson to complete the sky sports Saturday lineup - Liverpool 2014.

On the same weekend, I saw Jon Flanagan emerging from a club toilet with two very lovely looking young women. He looked like a proper t**t.
