Tickets Cardiff away 21 April tickets

Hi guys I’m looking to buy one single ticket to Cardiff away from my other half, if any are available that would be great
Cheers

I phoned the ticket office and they explained that apart from a very few seat tickets that were snapped up very quickly, Cardiff have insisted that we sell all the safe standing tickets first, before making the bulk of the seats available for sale. The (very helpful, but powerless in this situation) ticket office person speculated this was because they might reallocate the seating blocks back to home supporters should we not sell them.

So it's a question of whether I dare to wait and risk not getting tickets at all, or just go for the standing even though I wanted seats. (My son prefers seats, I'm not that bothered myself.)

No idea how strict the stewards are at Cardiff. But you could just get in 15 minutes before kick-off, pick the first row of safe standing so there is no-one in front, and fold the seat down as I believe all safe standing / rail seating incorporates a seat as well.

I’ll swop my seating tickets for two safe standing with you, if you’d like

This is stupid because the whole point of safe standing is to separate the fans who want to stand from those who want to sit. You need both options on sale to make that work.

By the time we get to this game it could be VERY important. I've thought for a few weeks that it was shaping up to effectively be a winner takes all match to stay up (which means it'll likely end up a draw!)

Hopefully Cardiff are underestimating the demand. I did notice that (for once) the OUFC website said "total allocation" rather than "initial" which means we won't be getting any more. I think we'll be close to a sell out unless the results in the meantime make it less important.

The below is the best pic I have found to show the situation as I understand it.

You can see these away fans (Wigan, I believe) in the 'initial' allocation. This is clearly almost all safe standing (looks like some near the front is not - presumably what @TailsWeWin has purchased).

They obviously haven't quite filled this section (top or bottom) but then the next block (over the single barrier) is the 'extended' away end. Other than maybe 3 rows it looks to all be normal seating.

So we need to sell what looks like circa 2k safe standing before what looks like 1k (mostly) normal seating is released.

Hope this helps.

Anyone been previously to Cardiff away and can advise best location for parking nearish to the stadium. Have my two boys with me (9 and 7) for their 1st away game and so within a mile or so of ground?

Cardiff City stadium was built over the road from Ninian Park where parking was normally fine. There are park and ride sites dotted around Cardiff
and you can pre-book matchday parking:

I’ve used the YourParkingSpace app to book a space at Asda, which is very close to the stadium which cost me less than a fiver for 6 hours parking.

Me too. It’s cheap and it’s right next door.

On another note: I have taken a 7 year old to Cardiff and the away fans aren’t too welcoming (and particularly when they lose.) Tuck your scarves away until you’re in the turnstyle queue.

Good advice and sadly I'm going to remove my OX car sticker. Too risky down there.

Having been to Cardiff a few times to watch games there, one thing it isn’t is Ninian Park. Always found the pubs near the ground to be fine to drink in.
Obviously if people act like dicks then it will cause an issues with the locals, that is no different than if you were an away fan in the Bird being a dick though.

Just got 3 and will be taking grandson for his first ever pro game.
