It’s still just season ticket holders isn’t it?

Yeah, just over 2 weeks away!

I think we only got 1250 tickets, was just wondering how the sales were going? It initially went to away members then opened up for season tickets holders last Tuesday, so a pool of 7k, then go on general sale tomorrow!!

Would have thought we’d sell out, but holidays etc, not sure!

It will sell out once it goes on general sale, but obviously a bit slower down to the holidays as you say. Should be a decent crowd for a first round league cup match. Looking forward to it despite everything going on.

I had a look today, nowhere near. Looks like the first round of the league cup doesn’t have the appeal, was this the league game then it would have sold out to season ticket holders quickly.

You can’t really take that from one away league cup game.

I am looking forward to it anyway, if you haven’t got a ticket, to a proper game on what looks like being a nice day, an away day in London with all that involves, then get yourself one, missing out because you haven’t heard from Dusan (who might not exist) or Tim (who might as well not exist) seems like cutting your nose off to me.

What, by moving it to a more convenient time and date? You can have a go at the EFL for a lot of things but putting a game at 3pm on a Saturday instead of midweek seems a bit strange.

More the fact that it is before the actual league season starts. I’m stuck in my ways and a traditionalist so always believe the league cup should be Tuesday night games.

Strange that a week later we’d potentially have a lot more interest, especially with holidays, expense etc.

And a good gage will be away games too which have tended to be well supported.

Just saying it’s a shame and a noticeable shift!

Well if you were really a traditionalist, you'd be welcoming with open arms the first round going back to being played before the league season opens, like it did in the 70s. For example...

If memory serves First round was played home and away ( as was the Semi Final) ?- the first round home game was part of a ST package back then too

I seem to think that the first two rounds were home and away? But then we did seem to draw a lot in the early rounds back then, so they might have been replays I guess.

Yeah first and second rounds were two legged up until 2000. I guess the "too many games" lobby caught up with it at that point. (Odd, as that mainly comes from the top flight, who don't tend to be involved in the first round, at least.)

Suspect we’ll see a decent number of blue seats for MK. High season ticket sales for a game in August after relegation will, I suspect, mean that there will be a sizeable number away on their hols and not attending.

Not sure them giving their tickets to friends/family for a game against the plastics in League One is going to happen nearly as much as, say, a Championship game against Norwich in August.

The official attendance figure will be pretty high, mind.

I've been a season ticket holder for over 25 years and usually attend 10-15 away games per season and this would usually be a match I would attend, but I'll be honest I just have no interest in going. If that makes me a part timer then so be it.

I am feeling so disillusioned with the club at the moment. The board/smt have shown a complete disregard for the supporters. The stadium issue (through no fault of the club, it should be said) has dragged on for years now and we've not not got spades in the ground. We've got yet another new manager who will probably not be here in a year. Our best players will likely all be sold before the end of the window. I think all of this has made me lose sight of what it actually is I'm supporting.

I've got a season ticket again this year but I would be lying if I said I was looking forward to the new season. I'm sure once I'm in my seat for the first match against MK I'll enjoy being back, but the fact I'll be there at all is more down to pure habit than any sort of excitement or anticipation.

I agree but feel fairly philosophical about the predicament we are in. Being forced to push Academy players on is no bad thing as Rowett said he would do but of course that didn't happen. Looking forward to actually winning some games albeit not the dreary oppositions.

1, See competitive football again
2, London day out
3, See us against a league rival and get an idea if we are really ready for the league the week after, at least we won't lose any points

I much prefer a Saturday game in east London as I always worry about missing the last train to Bicester at night games

It will be interesting to see the actual attendance for MK though, with holidays affecting it, that's the same every year, but with the added 'goings on' I can see there being a few more empty seats than would normally be the case

Ticket details have just been confirmed for what is a small allocation, just up the road, on a Saturday at 3pm (and our first League away game of the season).

The sort of game that you'd expect to be sold out within an hour or two of opening up to ST holders (this Tuesday). If it drags on another couple of days, or even gets to General Sale (a week Tuesday) then, for me, that will be an indication of a degree of apathy creeping in.
